    Real Sweet Strings

Unbelievable These are a fine set of strings. This set of strings usually comes as standard strings on up end ukuleles. So if you want your uke to sound as good as it did when new these are your strings.

    Quality product

Aquila strings are a quality product that seem to be indestructable. I have a new Uke with new strings and so far the strings have done well and require very little adjustment between practice sets. I purchased a second set of strigs when I got my Uke and have not needed to use any of those at this time. Sweetwater was great to work with and did everything they promised. It is nice to deal with folks that provide quality products, have a professional staff that is knowledgeable and do what they say...very refreshing!

    I Love Them, But . . . Caveat Emptor

I bought two sets of these shortly after receiving an Ibanez tenor uke (spalted maple, left-handed--tho', I'm considered a "righty"). The uke came with Aquila tenor strings, but, the first set of replacements that I put on are slightly larger in diameter than the original strings. That does cause some problems tuning, until the strings "wear in" a bit, as the strings will stick in the notches in the nut, then slip later, causing the string to go flat. Still, once the first "replacement" set was stretched properly (place index finger under the strings, in the middle of the sound-hole, and--keeping finger as straight as possible--lift up about 1 to 2 cm) they lasted an incredibly long time, were not too hard on my fingers (which don't form callous like they did 30-40 years ago when I was much, much younger), and had incredible tone. Now--with a "one 3-song medley" gig coming up in less than a week, I'm going to change strings. I would not even attempt that with another set of strings in which I had less confidence. Except for the potential slightly-too-large diameter problem, everything else about these strings is fantastic! :D
