Small Guitar with Great Big Possibilities!

The compact Yamaha APXT2 acoustic-electric guitar gives you the quality and performance of one of Yamaha's all-time best-selling instruments on a smaller scale. Based on the super-popular APX500, the 3/4-size APXT2 is a fun and easy-to-play instrument that's perfect if you have smaller hands or are looking for a great traveling guitar. What's more, Yamaha outfitted the APXT2 with a System 68 contact pickup and active preamp, which includes a super-handy onboard tuner. Add to that a padded gig bag, and you're ready to play anywhere with your Yamaha APXT2 acoustic-electric guitar.

Yamaha APXT2 Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Undersized design provides oversized possibilities
  • Onboard electronics let you play (in tune) anywhere
Undersized design provides oversized possibilities

You don't have to have small hands to appreciate the APXT2's undersized ergonomics. If you're looking for a great guitar you can kick back on the couch and strum or while you're away on your next long road trip, the 3/4 scale of the Yamaha APXT2 is perfect for you. Of course its smaller-than-average scale is also great for new guitar players, too, but at 1-11/16", the nut is easily wide enough to accommodate full-sized fingertips.

Onboard electronics let you play (in tune) anywhere

You'd be surprised to know how many gigging musicians, even well-known professionals, actually prefer to gig with guitars like the Yamaha APXT2 acoustic-electric model. That's because you can take this comfortable, shallow-body guitar anywhere, plug in, and get full-bodied acoustic tone through the PA, courtesy of the onboard ART-based pickup system. What's more, Yamaha gave the APXT2 one of their proprietary tuners, which let you tune up quickly, without needing to plug in extra gear.

Yamaha APXT2 Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • An undersized version of Yamaha's super-popular APX500 acoustic-electric guitar
  • 3/4-sized design is perfect for smaller hands, beginners, and guitarists on the go
  • Spruce-topped meranti delivers balanced tone and natural acoustic sound
  • Onboard ART-based preamp and System 68 contact pickup let you play plugged in

Great Guitar

Just got it easy to play and sounds great, plugged it in to my Yamaha accustic amp and what a outstanding sound.

Ok for beginners and kids

I own several guitars, my main acoustic is a Taylor 414ce, and to me this guitar sounds like a toy, Don't get me wrong it's way better than a wal-mart guitar but I just couldn't get over the tin box sound. For a first time player or a child this would be a good guitar but for someone accustom to mid-high end acoustics I found this annoying. The neck also felt horrible, it has a very slow & plastic feel. The guitar was however set up perfect, no intonation issues. I didn't get a chance to plug it in, but a tin sounding guitar with pick-ups will still sound like a tin box. If you have the extra money, the Baby Taylor is well worth the extra $100-$200.
