API Rack Ears

I've ordered a bunch of rack ears for different equipment before and every company seems to have a different approach to it. Some are very inexpensive and poorly made and some are way overpriced and work wonderfully. These are somewhere in between. I have paid more for rack ears but these are definitely not cheap. They seem well made but wow the installation was a pain. I feel like the 500-6B unit was designed in the factory never to have rack ears made for it then the company changed their mind later down the road and designed rack ears based around the idea that they wouldn't have to change the design of the 500-6B so basically when you put these on you have to disassemble the entire until and put it back together again with these extra pieces. It took me about 40 minutes with a second person helping me. A lot of the screws are located inside the unit where it's near impossible to maneuver a screwdriver. Frankly, if I was API I would not want costumers fiddling with the innards of a device like this but overall the ears worked as advertised and are very sturdy. Fits in my rack just fine!
