Acoustic practice amp
Got this little Vox for a very specific application: to go with my Blackstar HT-1R when I play my PRS P22, so I can hear the guitar in stereo with both the humbucker(s) to the HT1R and the piezo to the Vox.
Gives a very nice, swirling, extra something to the tone, as well as a bigger, fuller sound.
When I ran the P22 thru just one cable with combined signals, the piezo was a bit disappointing thru a regular tube amp- tried all 5 of my amps and it just wasn't there. But, when I hooked up the piezo to the Vox, and the 'buckers to a tube amp... Well, then I got the tone I was looking for.
I don't gig with it as it's not very loud, and interestingly enough, of the two channels, the non-tube "normal" channel sounds more like a true acoustic guitar than the "tube" channel. Has a nice little bonus in either reverb, chorus or both in one easy to use knob. Also, channel one works with either a standard guitar cable or plug in your mic here and use as a little PA system. (Haven't tried that yet)
Overall, it suits my needs perfectly for practice at reasonable home-owner volumes. Recommend it for this app!
