Absolutely Superb!

I just had two sets of these monsters installed in my '83 P bass and holy s***! These pickups are light years ahead of anything else on the market. And don't let the "classic 60's sound" description make you rethink purchasing them for even a second if you're looking for clear, modern tone as well. Just last weekend I played a venue capable of holding 250+ at capacity and I filled the entire room with one Hartke KB-12, kicked back and set flat with the volume at six. Aguilar knows what's up and the AG 4P-60s are for real. My P bass was part of the elite series in 1983 and, in what at the time seemed like an awful decision, I asked my tech to gut the preamp, install brand new pots, and wire the pickups in a fully passive environment. I'm so glad I did. Its output has increased by at least 30% and I can't even describe the richness and clarity it now has. My low end is thunderous but crystal (and I mean crystal) clear and the mid range is absolutely ferocious--every nuance is present. But what continually blows me away with 4P-60s are the highs. They are punchy as hell but EQed so brilliantly that absolutely NO warmth is lost--think Paul Jackson's sound on Flood crossed with Victor Bailey's tone on Bottom's Up. If you play funk or fusion (or hell, any style really) just drop the $100. You will not be disappointed. I'm dead serious--these pickups are ridiculous. Pure. Funk. Fury. My only real problem now is I need to figure out how to get an Aguilar endorsement because if their pickups are this genius, I can't even imagine what my P would sound like through their rigs. :) Seriously though, these guys are on point--easily the most progressive company out there and geared specifically for bassists (that alone should tell you something).

The one I liked the most of all the ones I've heard

Is definitely a pair of pick ups but I'm going to keep the rest of my life and we'll change it to eventually change to your other basses in the future. It has a lot of the definition of punch and it's very versatile is not this is only intended for all old Rock styles only it really works for almost everything.
