Fresh Look with a Bold Sound

Look no further than the Ibanez Artwood AEW for an affordable acoustic-electric with looks and tone to make your audience take notice. The AEW's unique body, with its dramatic waist and plunging Florentine cut, is thin and comfortable in the hands and provides a full sound with reduced stage feedback. A spruce top on a rosewood/maple/walnut body gives this Artwood an uncommonly rich sound and attractive stage looks for an intermediate price. Live players will appreciate the onboard Fishman pickup with dual balanced outputs for splitting a guitar signal between the house and a stage amp, and studio players will appreciate the built-in chromatic tuner for reliable doubling and open-tuning experimentation.

Ibanez Artwood AEW Acoustic-Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Thin and bold body design has it all - looks, playability, and tone
  • Carefully selected tonewoods for a natural, full, and balanced sound
  • Natural-sounding Fishman electronics with onboard tuner and balanced outs
Thin and bold body design has it all - looks, playability, and tone

The Artwood AEW's thinnish body is comfortable to play and amplifies well without feedback - a feature your guests will appreciate whether you're onstage or in the coffee house. A soft Florentine cutaway gives the AEW body a distinctive look that will make audiences take notice, while a natural-sounding onboard Fishman pickup will keep them at attention. Other bold appointments include maple body bonding, an interesting headstock inlay, black tuning knobs, and a spare fretboard with lone double-dot 12th-fret markers.

Carefully selected tonewoods for a natural, full, and balanced sound

Sweetwater guitarists applaud Ibanez for its choice of uncommon tonewoods in a guitar of this price range. This Ibanez AEW features a spruce top for a clear and projecting tone with back and sides made from rosewood, spalted maple, and walnut to warm and direct sound forward. Lead players will appreciate the fast satin neck and daring cutaway for full access to upper frets.

Natural-sounding Fishman electronics with onboard tuner and balanced outs

A long-lasting Fishman Sonicore pickup with independent treble and bass controls gives the Artwood AEW a natural DI tone for live shows and recording applications. Soundchecking with the Artwood is a breeze: dual balanced outputs (XLR and 1/4") provide a low-noise connection between you guitar and a DI box, an acoustic amp, or straight into the PA. And staying in tune between songs is discreet and easy thanks the AEW's onboard LED chromatic tuner.

  • Pinched waist is comfortable and easy to play

A truly beautiful guitar

I am absolutely blown away by this guitar. Straight out of the box it sounded amazing as my guitars from Sweetwater always do. It has such a rich and bright tone with the highs and lows both shining through. This is also the best feeling guitar I own. When I hold it in my hands it feels so natural. The looks of this guitar are striking. A beautiful guitar with just the right amount of flair. This is my third Ibanez acoustic and I highly recommend this guitar and can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

You'll Never Want to Put it Down

This guitar has got it all! First off, the price is more than worth paying. You get great tone, style, and comfort in a $ guitar. I promise you won't regret it.I play in my church's praise band, and anytime I bring this puppy out, I'm told (repeatedly) how beautiful it is. I even stop playing sometimes and just admire it (obviously, not while I'm on stage). And honestly, the pictures don't do it justice. But the looks are secondary to tone, and this guitar will not disappoint you. The combination of a solid sitka spruce top, spalted maple/rosewood sides, and a rosewood/spalted maple/walnut back give this guitar a very nice warm and "woody" tone. Seriously, I'd gladly pay much more than $ for this tone. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because of the electronics package. Don't get me wrong, it's good and suppresses a lot of feedback, but it's not great. However, with a bit of tweaking, you can get pretty close to a natural sound. Just don't turn the volume up to loud, or it might sound a little "tinny".
