An All-around Amazing Acoustic-electric!

Slightly smaller and far more slender than a typical dreadnought, Ibanez's AEG10II steel-string acoustic-electric guitar is a comfortable fit for anyone from flatpickers to fingerstylists alike. To give the AEG10II a clear voice that suits blues and country, rock and pop equally well, Ibanez built this workhorse acoustic guitar with back and sides made from mahogany. A solid spruce top balances out the AEG10II's deep and rich low end with an even balance of midrange clarity and high-end sparkle. And to top it all off, you're even ready to take the stage thanks to the AEG10II's Ibanez AEQ-SP1 preamp/tuner system.

Ibanez AEG10II Acoustic-electric Steel-string Guitar at a Glance:
  • AEG body shape feels great and keeps feedback at bay
  • An amazing acoustic guitar for the stage, studio, or couch
  • Onboard electronics let you dial in perfect live sound
AEG body shape feels great and keeps feedback at bay

If you're going to play acoustic guitar plugged in, then you're going to want an Ibanez AEG10II acoustic-electric. Why? Because feedback is a total show-stopper. The feedback your typical acoustic-electric guitar is capable of producing (seemingly at random) can easily clear a room. But with its shallow body and advanced internal design, you virtually never have to worry about feedback, when you play an AEG10II. What's more, the Ibanez AEG10II's slightly undersized body makes it incredibly comfortable to play - especially if you're used to playing a slim electric guitar.

An amazing acoustic guitar for the stage, studio, or couch

Whether you're the humblest of Saturday afternoon porch pickers or the seasoned pro who's been hauled from show to show a time or two, this Ibanez AEG10II acoustic-electric steel-string guitar was made for you. Everyone needs an inexpensive acoustic guitar you can pack up, head out, and run off with anytime you need, without worrying about damaging any priceless instruments. But your "beater" guitar doesn't need to sound bad, and the Ibanez AEG10II is more than proof enough of that. In fact, its natural acoustic sound makes it a great campfire guitar, but it's small enough to be your new favorite couch guitar as well.

Onboard electronics let you dial in perfect live sound

The Ibanez AEG10II's built-in Ibanez AEQ-SP1 preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup give you the power and tone you need for use onstage or in the studio. The AEQ-SP1 active preamp gives you both an 3-band EQ and a shape control, which make it easy to get great sound in virtually any venue. You'll also love the convenience of the built-in guitar tuner.

Ibanez AEG10II Acoustic-electric Steel-string Guitar Features:
  • A slender, midsize dreadnought-style stel-string acoustic-electric guitar that's perfect for a wide variety of playing techniques and musical styles
  • Smaller-than-average AEG body style fits guitarists of all sizes
  • Mahogany body delivers a full and deeply resonant voice
  • Spruce top balance the warmth of mahogany with clear mids and singing highs

Ibanez Guitar

Plays as good as a Taylor and stays in tune for ions. This guitar is outstanding. I have been playing for 30 years and I will never buy any other brand. VALUE FOR YOUR BUCK perfectly describes this instrument. I am overjoyed and thankful that our friends at Sweetwater are in business. There is a childlike innocense that this company offers to the public and that is exactly what our nation needs right now. I get tickled anytime I order something and they send a bag full of candy....the same kind the kiddies get when they go trick or treating. This company wants to not only make repeat customers, but friends....and in my book that is a diamond in the rough. Sweetwater...you are my friend!

Good tone, great comfortability, excellent price

Despite playing guitar for more than 15 years, this was my first acoustic purchase. I wanted something that was more slender and comfortable than the average dreadnought without sacrificing too much in terms of tone, and Ibanez is my go-to brand, so this was a pretty easy choice (the hardest decision was what finish to go with!). I'm pleased to report that the AEG10II has delivered on all of those fronts, and is a fine guitar indeed, especially for its lower price. Its tone is bright and clean without being harsh or tinny, with a respectable low end that, while perhaps not as deep and full as larger acoustic models, avoids sounding boxy or woofy. The neck and body make it about as comfortable to play as I imagine any acoustic could be (and certainly any that I've ever played), and it was an easy transition for me, a primarily electric-based player. The built-in electronics are a nice touch. It's handy having a tuner at the ready all the time (though I don't know if it's perfectly dead-on accurate, to the cent). I haven't plugged it in to use the pickup myself, but I imagine it does about as good a job as most other A/E pickups. There *is* a small dent (probably about 1/4" in size) on one of the edges of the body, but considering the likelihood of such imperfections on similar products, as well as what I paid, I can live with it. It isn't all that noticeable, and doesn't affect the sound at all. Sweetwater's service and affordability, as always, was five-star, and can't be beat. Long story short -- it's a great guitar for a great price. If you've got a background with electric guitar, and/or are looking for a comfortable acoustic, give this one (or its beautiful blue-sunburst sister) a try.
