Vox AC30VR 30-watt 2x12" Valve Reactor Combo Reviews

30-watt 2-channel Hybrid 2x12" Guitar Combo Amplifier with Valve Reactor Technology and Reverb

Switch channels on Vox's stunning (and affordable) AC30VR combo, and you can move between legendary tube-fired Vox jangle and hot modern rock tones! With the tap of a footswitch, you can move between classic and contemporary sounds, so you're all set for the stage. The secret behind this affordable combo amp's amazing tones is in the "VR" in the 30-watt AC30VR's name. VR stands for Valve Reactor, a technology Vox has been working on for a while - it's inside their renowned ToneLab pedals. What VR does is bring you more of the sound, feel, and dynamic range that you'd expect from an all-tube amp - only without all that extra cost and weight. You won't believe the diverse soundscape of sounds available in the Vox AC30VR.

Great Amp !!!

By Del on January 24, 2017 Music Background: 35 plus years as a musician , playing guitar & drums

I bought this amp about a month ago ... and I completely love it . I play everything from 50s/60s rock , to 70s/80s rock , to hard rock , metal and even country . And this amp has preformed excellent for each style I've played through it . It has such a clean & beautiful tube sound ... and great distortion for hard rock & metal . I would highly recommend this amp , especially if you're looking for that tube sound , but would still like the option to play something a little heavier too .

Very Nice

The AC30VR is a very nice affordable amp to get you those classic Vox tones and that classic "jangly" clean sparkle. With this particular model you can still achieve that "jangly" high end sound through the amazing clean channel. The clean channel stays very clean even cranked at high volumes compared to some Fender amps that can start to get distorted and give a little more feed back and bass punch to them at higher volumes. The two overdrive channels allow for a variety of distortion tones from getting a blues type distortion sound on the OD 1 channel to achieving classic rock and even metal tones on the OD 2 channel with the tweaking of the gain knob. Very nice affordable amp that everybody recognizes and sounds great.

Store Demo

I bought this amp from sweetwater as a demo and got a great deal. First impressions of this amp are good. I mainly use the clean channel with pedals. The clean channel really has some nice sparkle and bass response. If you are a seasoned player you will be able to tell immediatly that it is not a full tube amp but it comes very close. The overdrive channels are pretty good as well. They can get really dirty and the first overdrive channel has some nice break up for some nice blues sounds. I mainly play country and this amp was bought as a back up to my Dr. Z. This has to be the best amp in this price range! Thanks to Kurt at Sweetwater!

Nice Amp

I love the tube tone that you can get out of the Vox ac30vr. Crisp clean, to A smooth fat clean sound. Two dirty channels is A plus for the tone chaser. The reason I gave this amp A 4 star rating is because, it don't have an effect's loop and it don't have A line out. Other than that it is A great amp and I would recommend this amp, if you want that tube sound without the price.
