Simply put > The Best Overall and Most Versatile Guitar I have ever owned.

This retro-Mahogany styled O-body sized acoustic-electric guitar offers more tone and versatility than imaginable and represents an almost incomprehensible value. With its vintage good looks and dovetail neck joint, solid Mahogany top, bone nut and saddle and the superb on-board electronics, I can't imagine ever being without this recently acquired guitar.

Sound and tone are subjective, but I love the way this one whispers and screams when strummed or played finger-style and prefer Elixir or D'Addario EXP Light Phosphor Bronze strings. For those that need or want uncoated strings, perhaps, consider staying with the Phosphor vs. Regular Bronze strings.

Anyway, just a truly incredible smaller-bodied and most comfortable guitar with a big, bold sound. Love, love, love it!!!!

    great guitar

alot of attention in detail, bone nut, bridge, inlay, neck style, electronics, body size. For me. A lot of bang for the buck. (MAPLE) warm. Nice look.

The quality far out strips the price.

The guitar arrived in 5 days in great shape. The only set-up issue was the high action. I understand that they would rather send it out a little high, allowing the player to sand down the bone to set the action to their pleasure.

The fret ends could use a little work but it’s certainly not a deal breaker and is playable with no attention to them at all.

The fret flatness at the body joint show a little rise which could be an issue in years to come; as glue in necks age, this minor rise and flatness issue can happen.

Any budget guitar can use a fret leveling, crowning and polish, in this case I won’t know until I lower the action a bit but initially it looks good.

The on-board electronics work great. No issue with these. The unit does use AA batteries and not 9 volt. Didn't see that in the specs and I'm not sure about the comparable battery life, etc., time will tell I suppose.

The finish and open pore is killer; I love it.

In any case this unit plays wonderfully, sounds great and feels really good. At this price to quality point, you’d be hard pressed to find a better mahogany, parlor style guitar with the electronics as well.

I have an Ibanez thin body nylon Chet Atkins style unit and an Ibanez Gibson 339 copy from ’83 and I must say I’m a fan of Ibanez. You really get a quality guitar for the money, spend a bit more on a proper set up and they stand up against any name brand for way, way less money.

Never bought from Sweetwater before, I buy from Musicians Friend mostly. I now have a new vendor in Sweetwater. My contact, Ty Heimann gave me A+ service.

First of all I did not give five stars because of some small finish problems on the neck near the nut where you could see what looks like a small cut and a little amount of glue showing under the saddle .Other than that the body is great. When I saw this guitar for the first time I did not like the way the wood looked. It has a old time look to it not at all flashy kind of an old time look to it something that would have been made back in the 40's but with out the electronics. The wood has a natural look that was not to my taste,I kind of like a flashy guitar but I was not looking for looks. The guitar looks a little different than the pictures you see here. That being said, this guitar is great. If you are going on looks keep looking If you are going on sound and ease of play this is it.I have very large hands and I have pain in my joints when I play. But not with this guitar. The wider 13/4 neck and 24.9 scale make it great for someone like me that has problems with 111/16 inch necks and 25 scale guitars.I am a hard fast strummer, I play nothing but open chords in my music.Even with the shorter scale Im able to play fast open chord songs. But with this guitar I do not get any fret buz or string tone going away. The preamp is great could not ask for any better than the fishman that is installed on this guitar.Sounds great thru a marshall 50 acoustic amp.All in all this is great guitar for the money, you can't go wrong.I have looked for a long time for a smaller guitar that had great action and tone this Ibanez really is a keeper.Does not come with a case but a standard dred gig bag works well.Sweet water did a great job on the set up and it played great right out of the box. Thanks sweet water Ill be back
