Concert body style gives you excellent natural acoustic projection

Ever since guitarists have been relying on the natural projection of their instruments, the unique voice of the concert body style has been an all-around favorite among musicians. Even without its advanced onboard electronics, the AC1R acoustic-electric guitar gives you a balanced voice that's perfect for anything from traditional music to the driving rhythms of modern acoustic rock. You'll love the full sound of Yamaha's AC1R, particularly when you play more aggressively.

Spruce-topped rosewood is a singer-songwriter's ideal tonewood combo

Whether you lean towards indie rock, alt country, traditional folk, or any other style you can think of, your acoustic guitar is frequently your entire backing band. You're going to feel right at home with a Yamaha AC1R acoustic-electric guitar. Its rosewood back and sides provide exceptional bass and powerful projection, whereas its spruce top adds air to its treble. This leaves the midrange open for your voice, so you aren't constantly fighting to sing over your guitar. Even if you don't play solo, you can't help but appreciate the AC1R's incredible tonal balance.

SRT electronics system faithfully captures your acoustic sound when you play plugged in

Of course, when you do want to plug in your Yamaha AC1R, you'll be ready. It has a System 66 piezo preamp and SRT pickup system, which helps give it a truly realistic, natural acoustic voice when it's pumping through a PA system. Another cool touch: you have an onboard tuner, so you can always get your AC1R right in tune.

Yamaha AC1R Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • An affordable acoustic-electric guitar loaded with high-end features

Exceptional Guitar

My friend bought this guitar from a Mom and Pop shop upstate NY. I played his and vowed to buy one for myself. When I saw the price here, it was a no-brainer! Playing in the sweet spot up the neck, the notes ring "for days"! Action very decent right out of the box. I will however have it lowered. Lovely tone. Pick up is nice to have. Tuner won't get used. I really can't say enough good things about this instrument. A great piece of engineering on Yamaha's part. Nicely done!

Love it.

I have had this guitar about 4 years now and has never failed to impress the people I play to and with. I own a Takamine and a Taylor, and it will be on par or out shine these as well. No doubt that your ear may be drawn to other acoustics and you will need another guitar for various venues, but for a wide range of uses this one can keep pace. I play a solo set every weekend for my church group on a house P.A. and it always sounds crisp and clean. I occasionally need to plug into my Fender Acoustisonic Jr. for venue changes and the combo works excellent. The Yamaha and the Jr. are my favorite combo by the way. I also have a Roland AC60 that makes the Yamaha go in the direction of a nice deeper and fuller tone. Both are great amps but when I plug my Taylor in it falls just a bit short. I will not endorse buying it without testing it, but if you are willing to pull the trigger without a test drive, I truly think you will be satisfied with this guitar.

New player. Nearly perfect finish. Good value with nice hard case. Action is just a little high. Not a fan of the tuner. Had better result tuning by ear. Very happy with the concert body size. I think I'll grow into this guitar and there won't be a need to upgrade as I and the guitar will improve with use.

Guitarist/50 years

I like the Yamaha very much. The acoustic sound is rich with good bass-mid and high tones. The neck feels very comfortabl, even for someone like myself who has small hands.

Better Luck Next Time

The only stars I would givethis guitar is if they went the other direction. I can't say any thing good about it. It sounds terrible, and the neck looks like it was made from a 2x4. Years ago, a friend had an inexpensive Yamaha acoustic and I was impressed with the sound, I should have bought one then. Don't be fooled by the nice looking pictures, it's not the guitar you see. Save your money or buy a different guitar, you'll be glad you did.
