Great Upgrade Speaker For Small Amps

I put this speaker in a Swart 6V6 SE amplifier replacing the stock Weber 8" speaker that came with the amp. The Eminence 820H has a smother tone to my ears--a bit less raspy than the Weber speaker. The hemp cone in the Eminence probably has a lot to do with that. Overall the Eminence has a very full sound for a 8" speaker and improved the tone of my amp. If you have an amp with an 8" speaker and you would like a fuller sound I would recommend this speaker as a replacement.

Eminence 820H 4 Ohm

I bought this speaker after contacting Anthony at Eminence. I have a 1966 Blackface Fender Champ that I've done some minor modifications to. I had replaced the stock Oxford 8EV with a WGS G8C, but I was disappointed with how the speaker lost control in the bass frequencies. I was considering replacing the baffle and upgrading to a 10", but Anthony recommended I try the 820H first. He was right. This speaker has the sonic footprint of a 10". It is incredibly full and warm sounding for an 8" speaker. The best way to describe it would be fat and sweet - which are two words you never hear when talking about 8"s. Highly recommended.

Great little speaker

I have a mid 60's Fender Champ that was starting to sound pretty bad, even though it had what I think was the original Fender speaker in it. What I found out was that the Fender speaker was an 8 ohm and the amp is really set up for a 4 ohm speaker. So I had this bad boy installed (kept the original speaker, too) and had the amp completely gone over. I was a little concerned because there are not a lot of 8' speakers available. But I gave it a shot and am very happy that I did. The speakers and the amp sound great. If you are looking for a speaker replacement for a vintage Fender amp, I highly recommend this line of Eminence speakers.

Nice!!

Used the Patriot 820H to replace the stock speaker in my Roland Cube 20GX. WOW! What a difference. It's now a GREAT little practice amp. You might have to replace the negative terminal crimp, and that could be a challenge finding the right one. I just happened to have an assortment of crimp connectors and some luck with a dremel tool.
