The Taylor Hygro-Thermometer Big Digit has been very dependable throughout the year or so since I bought my first 3. Due to my constantly-expanding arsenal of both acoustic & electric guitars, I just recently bought a few more of them. WHY so many, you might wonder? It's because I position them in various locations in my guitar room/rooms to get the most accurate reading of the relative humidity & temperature in each particular spot. Each one tends to vary a slight amount from another, depending on where in the room they are located, which makes perfect sense. In addition, it is clearly stated in the written specs that the device allows for a variance of + or - 5% in relative humidity, which is really not significant enough to make a difference regarding the condition of your instrument. This product also uses a AAA battery, which lasts quite a long time, as opposed to the smaller unit, which uses a much smaller battery, which will die out a lot faster.
