A richer, more vibrant voice than ever before thanks to customized bracing

You'll notice that the Taylor 612ce boasts exceptionally vibrant tones with a unique character. Taylor went back to the drawing board and redesigned their bracing patterns, to get the optimum response out of each of their iconic body shapes. Taylor even added side bracing to add rigidity to the sides and enhance top and back movement. In the words of luthier Andy Powers, the updated Advanced Performance bracing pattern gives the updated 612ce a "nice, cushy swell and long sustain, even with a delicate touch."

Super-comfortable Grand Concert body style provides excellent tonal balance

Taylor's Grand Concert body style gives you clarity, focus, and balanced tone that sits beautifully in thicker arrangements where a larger-bodied acoustic would take up too much real estate. Arguably Taylor's most comfortable body style, the 612ce's smaller than average Grand Concert shape is the perfect fit for anyone looking for a more manageable instrument. That makes the 612ce a particularly good fit if you're a finger-stylest or if you have shorter arms.

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage

If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into your 612ce acoustic-electric guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into the 612ce's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression. Sweetwater knows that your plugged-in tone is important to you, and we're confident that the Taylor 612ce has the sound you want.

Taylor 612ce Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Grand Concert guitar with updated bracing and electronics
  • Smaller than average Grand Concert body style is extremely comfortable and naturally loud
  • Torrefied Sitka spruce top provides a light and expressive sound
  • Maple back and sides add chiming brightness to your sound
  • Onboard Taylor Expression System 2 electronics give you natural sound even when plugged in live
  • Includes hardshell case
If you're looking for an acoustic-electric guitar with extra bite, then the Taylor 612ce is just what you need!

612ce wonderful guitar

This latest Taylor 612ce is an amazing guitar. After the typical setup work I like to do, the playability, tone and projection of this guitar is amazing and really pleasing to my ear. The beauty of the flamed maple and quality of the fit and finish are as good as anything I've seen. The sweetwater buying experience is always great, consistent service, and a wonderful company to work with, thanks Chris Leonard for all you do.

Taylor 612ce masterpiece guitar

This guitar is beyond expectations. I did a lot of research and tried both Martins and Taylors. I wanted the shorter scale with a 1 3/4" nut. I play finger style and this seemed the best set up for my playing. The guitar is a very small size but sounds like a much bigger guitar. It projects really well and has a clear, distinct tone. The meds are fairly pronounced but it has a great bottom and the highs are clear and it cuts through extremely well. In all, this instrument is a very high quality guitar for professional players or anyone who plays finger style and wants to have the best instrument they can get. I really have never played another guitar that comes close at even twice the price. OK, it's not anything like a Dred or Jumbo.....it's much more clear and distinct. In all, five stars to the 612ce. I could not be happier!

Incredibly balanced new sound and stunning looks!

I've had my 612ce for a few days now and still get goosebumps when I play it. When I first took it out of the case I just looked at it, stunned, you just can't capture the beauty of one of these in a photo. Things like the ebony binding gradually changing from dark to darker to a bit lighter again. The pau rosette has every color you can think of and sparkles like diamonds, I could go on and on. Musically, I've never heard anything like it. You can make it sound sweet and warm playing softly with the pads of your fingers or you can try and overdrive it strumming with a pick and it just sounds GREAT. Warmth, unique tonal balance, astonishing sustain, bell like clarity, amazing volume and plenty of great sounding bass too! A beautiful bold bass with clarity and tone like I've never heard before. I've never heard a guitar with a sound anything like this one (I'm 53). I ordered my 612ce blind (after reading everything I could about it and listening to it on Youtube) without ever having seen or played one and I was rewarded beyond my dreams ( I have a Taylor 322e GC I think the world of too which helped me to buy the 612ce). I expect these guitars to be enormously popular and Taylor will probably have a backlog for them soon. The 612ce is worth every penny you will pay for it. One last thing, when you look inside the guitar you'll be amazed at the quality, cleanliness and revolutionary style of bracing. Taylor must be given credit for all the R&D they did to make this guitar the wonder that it is. Only Intelligent, passionate, music loving people can make a heavenly guitar like this. I'll never get rid of this guitar willingly. MJB

Exceeded All My Expectations

What a finely crafted instrument! The workmanship is stunning, visually, as well as impeccable in attention to detail. It’s absolutely flawless in design and playability. Taylor hit a grand slam with the 612ce ES2 Grand Concert Acoustic Electric Guitar. The tone rings out and sustains beautifully. I have played it for hours on end and continue to receive inspiration to play more. I look forward to each session with it. My Martin Eric Clapton model pales compared to this Taylor. The new features (maple-specific back bracing, torrefied top, optimized wood thickness/bracing, thin [3.5 mil] finish, and protein glues) makes this guitar sound like a fifty plus year old instrument without the wait! It is very responsive to both finger style as well using a plectrum. Amplified, the sound sends chills up the spine! This instrument will out last this owner, and is one to be passed down to the next generation. Its well worth the money. I am happy I bought it …And I enjoy playing it!

Thing of beauty.

I've been a Martin/Gibson/Guild guy for 23 years, proud owner and loser of dozens of guitars, and for some reason I've always resisted Taylors. Too pretty, too safe, too something. The new 600 series finally got my toe in the water -- small-bodied maple, interesting new bracing, torrefied top...stuff anybody could have grabbed me with, but it was Taylor who did it so they got the dough. Anyway, folks, I apologize. Mea culpa. This is a tremendous instrument. Visually stunning, flawlessly constructed, clearly worth the pennies. The sound of this little guy is the selling point, however -- a fascinating middle ground between the chime of maple and the depth of rosewood, with next to no mud in the bass despite a clear spot for it in the mix. The neck is fast but not dainty, and the volume range is very wide and very attack-responsive. Through a raw PA, the electronics are as close to room sound as I've ever heard from a factory-install pickup. Maybe it wasn't their intention, but they've made an all-purpose guitar here. In short, believe the hype. Take it from a reformed skeptic.
