Epic EVH Tone in a 112 Combo!

The 50-watt EVH 5150 III Combo tube guitar amplifier combines the epic sound of the popular 5150 III Head with a chest-pounding 1 x 12" sealed-chamber cab loaded with a special design Celestion 12" speaker. Three switchable channels provide everything from sparkling cleans to seriously intense leads, and digital reverb lets you add gloss and dimension to your tone. The 5150 III Combo also features variable power scaling, which lets you drop the power as low as one watt. No matter where you rock, your EVH 5150 III Combo will deliver the tone you need.

EVH 5150 III Combo Guitar Tube Amplifier at a Glance:
  • The epic sound you'd expect from an EVH amp
  • Built-in DSP reverb gives you one more way to tweak your tone
  • Variable power scaling preserves your tone even at lower, club-friendly volumes
The epic sound you'd expect from an EVH amp

The EVH 5150 III Combo gives you bone-crunching, arena-filling volume - and that's without an additional extension cabinet. In effect, the 5150 III Combo gives you the raw power and epic tone of a 50W 5150 III Head, plus the sheer stage volume of a matching 1 x 12" sealed cab loaded with the sweet sound of a special design Celestion 12" speaker. With three footswitchable/MIDI switchable channels to choose from, you're set for any venue when you're rocking an EVH 5150 III Combo. Sweetwater knows that guitar players look for tube amps with massive tone and killer dynamics, and the EVH 5150 III 1 x 12" Combo is sure to please. This amp delivers everything from smooth, American clean tones to over-the-top British high-gain tones in a portable and gig-ready combo.

Built-in DSP reverb gives you one more way to tweak your tone

EVH decided to step up their 50-watt 5150 III Combo by outfitting it with a custom DSP reverb section. One knob is all you need to control this reverb, taking it from a glossy shine to a full-on wet sound. Even cooler, the 5150 III Combo sports MIDI input, allowing you to switch channels or bypass the reverb section remotely or with a standard footswitch.

Variable power scaling preserves your tone even at lower, club-friendly volumes

If you aren't rocking a full-scale arena, then the full 50-watt onslaught of the 5150 III Combo may just be a bit too much. Lucky for you, EHV saw fit to equip this guitar amplifier with a variable output control. This lets you scale back the 5150 III Combo's output from anywhere between 50 watts to a single watt - dropping your volume without sacrificing your tone or playing dynamics.

EVH 5150 III Combo Guitar Tube Amplifier Features:
  • 3-channel, 50-watt compact tube guitar combo amp with epic EVH tone
  • Sealed 1 x 12" cab loaded with a single special design Celestion 12" speaker

Really, really great amp!

I was a little unsure what to expect when I ordered this amp. Some people praised it to the high heavens, while others derided it as noisier than Niagra Falls. Well, I am pleased to say that this is a spectacular combo worthy of anyone's attention! First, yes, it does cleans. Just be warned that the really clean tones lie at the very beginning of the gain sweep in the green channel. Anything above about 2 has some hair on it. But as long as you're not trying to fill an auditorium with high-headroom cleans, you'll be fine. Green goes from the narrow clean up to full-on crunch. Some folks could live just in this channel alone. Blue takes it from there to very high gain territory with ease. Now, here's where most people get it wrong. The red channel has simply more gain than you would ever expect to find on most amps. Yes, it is noisy in the upper half of this channel, but again, you're dealing with more gain than you have ever had at your disposal before. There really should not be any complaints here. If you are concerned about noise, just stick with the blue channel and you will still have more gain than you will probably ever need. This amp will go anywhere from country, to blues, to rock, and modern metal with ease. It is a workhorse, and is also built very robustly with birch cabinets and a closed speaker enclosure. Also, a word about the speaker. I fully expected to change the speaker out when I received it because no one ever mentioned what speaker it actually is. But I am happy to report that I now feel no reason to switch it since it sounds terrific on its own. Lots of Lows and as much high end sparkle as you need. Add to this the attenuator from 1 watt to 50 watts, and you have a real winner on your hands. Also, the foot switch is extremely well-made, and I don't think they cut any corners on this amp. The partnership between EVH and Fender have a really borne some great fruit here. Way to go!

EVH 5150 112.. PERFECTION

Great dirty tones from classic 70's to full on metal mayhem!! Anyone who says the clean channel is not great is high !! it may not have twin reverb cleans, but it does have a great clean channel, some people just don't take the time to tweak it. It has a decent reverb, love how i can play it at bedroom volumes without losing tone, via the power level adjust!!! Great sturdy construction, foot pedal is built like a tank. Great sounding speaker to !!! just wait to it breaks in !!!
