my new favorite pick

I had been using the green Dunlop Tortex 0.88mm seemingly forever... I began playing in 1987, so yeah. hehehehe But last year wanted to try to change things up abit, explore more options. Everyone raves about the Jazz IIIs, so I looked and found some with the Max-Grip design, which intrigued me. I always found the Tortex to be rather slick, after the initial powdery feel wears off, so I ordered them. I LOVED the Max-Grip design, but the Jazz IIIs are just simply too physically TINY for me! Or maybe I'm too big... at 6'1" & 235 lbs, I'm not a giant or anything. LOL But upon finding the Max-Grip STANDARD SIZE picks, I ordered a bag ASAP! And I couldn't be more pleased. These do EVERYTHING I need them to do; they sound great, AND they stay in my hands, even when wet with sweat. I do NOT like a flimsy pick, so the 1.00mm thickness is perfect for tight thrash metal rhythms and also downtuned thick strings & stoner rock.

Great Pick!

I am really pleased with these picks. They stay in my fingers better than I had hoped. I was using regular Dunlop picks because they had the raised print on them which helped with gripping them. These, however, I guess because of the alternating pattern and angle of the raised slashes, stay in the same position in my fingers even when I change from light strumming to dig-in picking.

Sweetwater Advice

Jason Kovach

In a guitar player's world, dropping a guitar pick in the middle of a set is all too common. I've used Dunlop Max Grip picks for years and the grip has significantly reduced the number of picks I go through at shows. I highly recommend Dunlop Max Grip picks to any gigging musician.
