A classic electric bass - reborn!

Modeled after the 1964 incarnation of the world's first 4-string electric bass, the Lakland Skyline 44-64 lets you hold down the low end in style. That's largely in part thanks to Lakland's rendition of the famous split-coil pickup, which gives your electric bass the trademark thump that's powered the backline on many main stages for years - you know the sound we're talking about! On top of that, this Skyline 44-64 comes loaded with a J-style single-coil pickup, giving you access to a whole universe of diverse tones. And with upgrades such as Lakland's impressive dual-access bridge, you'll get the best combination of classic sound and modern stability with your Skyline 44-64 bass.

Skyline Series gives you excellent quality at an affordable price

The Lakeland Skyline 44-64 4-string electric bass gives you amazing quality for a great price. That's because the Skyline 44-64, like all Skyline Series basses, is made overseas and finished in Lakland's stateside shop. So, regardless of where it was originally made, each Skyline 44-64 passes through the hands of Lakland's US luthiers long before it finds its way to you. And when you add to that the fact that your Skyline 44-64 comes equipped with the same pickups and hardware as its US-made cousin, you know you're getting an amazing deal.

Lakland Bass

My first Lakland. Playing mostly fender basses I thought I would try one of these out. What I noticed right away was how nice the neck is. Nice slim, smooth and fast. Great fret work and straight as an arrow all the way to the 20th fret. Beautiful sustain unplugged from an amp. Not sure the brand of strings that come with it bu, they compliment it nicely. Played it out this past weekend for the first time and found it worked very well as we play a variety of styles. I think the only con was that it felt smaller than my Fender Jazz basses but that is just a matter of getting used to. Nice pickups and smooth quiet volume and tone controls. No hum or buzz when rolling back the volume on the J pickup. If the Skylines are this good then I can't wait to try a USA model.
