Tonal Perfection, Great Looks, and Uber-playability

The Taylor 416ce acoustic-electric guitar gives you a big low end, healthy volume whether picked or strummed, and articulation with a light attack. These are characteristics of the Grand Symphony body style (a Bob Taylor innovation), which gives you the sonic advantages of a dreadnought, without the boom. The 416ce sports ovangkol back and sides, and a fast mahogany neck with a scrumptious ebony fingerboard. Toping off the package is Taylor's renowned ES2 electronics. If tonal perfection, great looks, and uber-playability are your thing, check out the Taylor 416ce.

Grand Symphony body style: huge, balanced tone with articulation

Bob Taylor developed the Grand Symphony body style to push the sonic envelope (yet again). Deeper, fuller, and louder than a Grand Auditorium - or a Dreadnought, for that matter - the Taylor 416ce acoustic-electric guitar serves up sonorous, piano-esque lows, solid midrange, and confident treble. Whether strummed or flatpicked, the Taylor 416ce gives your notes articulation - even with a light attack. The Grand Symphony is a body style that means it.

Taylor's Expression System 2 delivers incredibly natural sound with full dynamics

If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into your 416ce acoustic guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into the 416ce's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression. We were more than impressed when Taylor came to Sweetwater to show us what this system can do, and we think you will be too.

It's a Taylor!

There's nothing like a Taylor. Once you get your hands on the 416ce acoustic-electric guitar, you'll never want to play anything else! But, what is it that makes a Taylor acoustic so good? For starters, each Taylor is made out of premium tonewoods, for great sound that only gets better with age. You'll also love the easy playing neck. Even if you're primarily an electric player, you'll feel totally comfortable getting around on this neck. Another Taylor hallmark is their commitment to consistent quality and attention to detail - no flawed "built on a Friday afternoon" guitars here! From the innovative neck joint to the durable, top-notch finish, your Taylor is built to play and sound absolutely great, right from the moment you pick it up. Don't settle for less; treat yourself to a Taylor!

Taylor!!!!!! This guitar pulls out all the stops

I love the wide belly, yet slim design. beautiful piece of of ART.....yes, I said art. This guitar emits by far the smoothest, most beautifully resounding sound i have ever had the pleaure to hear. Lacks on board tuning, but if your looking into such an astounding piece of angelic craftsmenship, and willing to put it on the line, then a basic headstock tuner such as SNARK is just merely a detail. pssssss. hint.....if you own a phone that has a dial tone, well, tune from that, it is an A note. the included case is beauitul and sturdy. Truly living up to the taylor name. Id really like to give a round of applause and a huge thank you to my sales engineer, KURT KRIPE. he warned me of some snow storms along the route the package was following. thank you, Kurt, concerning your sound advice to let the guitar settle and acclimate to an optimal temp but just simply leaving it in the case for a day after it arrived. Thank you all.

Awesome tone / Awesome guitar

Owning several Taylor acoustic guitars and being on a church worship team, I was looking for a guitar that would give a nice deep tonal thrust, hold its own against the electric guitarist and drums, and everything else on the stage. I was told about the 416ce as a guitar model that would probably be what I was looking for. The guitar has such a beautiful rich wholesome tone with excellent projection. Taylor's necks allow your fretting hand to glide smoothly up and down the neck with ease.. The ES system is so easy to operate and the 9V battery for the active pickup is so easy to pop in and out. My only wish was that Taylor would incorporate a meter or something that would let you know when the battery is nearing it's life. When the battery begins to die, if you use earbuds you'll begin to hear what sounds like an amp reaching its breakup level before the guitar dies. This can be embarrassing when playing live which happened twice to me. Also, with Taylor guitars, whenever a guitar cable is plugged into the guitar, any Taylor model, the battery is active and the life is being used. That said, this is an incredible guitar like all Taylors. Next is going to be the Taylor 456ce 12 string which has fantastic sound and is a must for any acoustic player. The Ovangkol back and sides blended with the Sitka Spruce top along with the extra body mass (which is not too big) makes this a 5+ Star guitar. I run my 416ce through our church house system with an LR Baggs Venue which enriches this already great acoustic tone monster to greater heights.
