Sitka spruce and ovangkol provide a well-rounded, all-purpose tone

This Taylor 412ce-N nylon-string acoustic guitar is a prime example of the high-quality tonewoods Taylor selects for their instruments. It features time-proven Sitka spruce as its top, which gives you wonderful projection with the perfect amount of sparkle. This 412ce-N's ovangkol back and sides also give it an intensely vibrant quality that's similar to rosewood, but with a unique character all of its own. You'll find that this 412ce-N's tonewood combination goes well with most applications, so it's the ideal choice for versatile players that are looking for a well-rounded, all-purpose nylon-string acoustic guitar.

Super-comfortable Grand Concert body style provides excellent tonal balance

Arguably Taylor's most comfortable body style, this 412ce-N nylon-string acoustic guitar's smaller than average Grand Concert shape is the perfect fit for anyone looking for a more manageable instrument. That makes this 412ce-N a particularly good fit if you're a fingerstylist or if you have shorter arms.

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver a natural amplified sound

If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into this 412ce-N nylon-string acoustic-electric guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into this 412ce-N's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression.

  • Sitka spruce and ovangkol provide a well-rounded, all-purpose tone

Just about perfect

I was looking for a nylon string that played a little more like a traditional acoustic, with a not quite so wide neck. Playing live I want to move between my steel string Martin and the nylon without the playability changing too drastically. This guitar has a slightly wider neck, but just enough to give you all the room you need to play. Much thinner than a traditional classical guitar. It plays unbelievably well. It's a great transition moving between guitars. And this guitar sounds great. I've been using it in the studio plugged in and miked. The pickups sound great, and I can get so many different tones moving the mike around at different angles to the sound hole, it's surprising actually. And the soft 'pop' sound of the nylon strings really comes out both live and in the studio. I haven't been able to put this guitar down since it came out of the box. As far as the look, at first, I wasn't sure I would love the white binding and the really light colored top, but even the look has really grown on me. It looks like it sounds, bright, peppy. Soft. Just lovely. If you are looking for a great sounding, lovely, playable nylon string you are going to love this guitar.
