DPA 4088 Directional Headset Microphone with MicroDot Connector - Black Reviews
When it comes to amplifying your voice with a microphone, you really have just four options: a mic on a stand, a handheld mic, a lavalier or a headset. The latter two offer hands-free mobility, and the lavalier is a popular choice for preachers, lecturers and "stand-up" entertainers, but if you want to take the quality and consistency of your sound to the next level, The DPA 4088 miniature cardioid headband provides the best sounding directional headworn microphone available today for performing talent of various sorts. Type 4088-B is the black version of the 4088.

First class microphone
If you sing on the street then every ounce counts. With this devastatingly fabulous sounding mike that only weighs ounces ou don't have to carry a mike stand or heavy mike.
Perfect
I really can't say enough about how much I love this mic...It sounds like my handheld's and sits on my face perfectly...I'm a DJ Entertainer at Walt Disney World and I don't know how I survived without it. I did a prom just last Saturday and have never feel more comfortable with a head set mic ever. More than worth the money I spent on it.
DPA 4088
This is a phenomenal microphone! I needed a solution for an energetic, mobile, operatic vocalist in a loud rock band that records in the round. None of the usual solutions had enough rear rejection and were catching the band instead of her voice. With the 4088 her voice is very natural, and suprisingly uncolored. Not only does this mic have excellent rejection, but the capsule rolls bass off for sources further away from the microphone. There's a little treble bump around 14k that provides some air, but also can pick up cymbals and the like - just be aware. It handles high SPL as well, but sound great from a whisper to the full throat. My only complaint is the lack of exterior indication of the orientation of the capsule, since it's directional - you have to pull the foam and the grill to figure it out.
