Only getting better

I bought my 316ce from Sweetwater three years ago and while I wrote a review at the time, I wanted to follow up as its finally breaking in. The Good I upgraded the saddle and nut to bone and with a new set of Elixirs the guitar is really sweet. The bass has warmed up very nicely and projection and overtones have also really improved. I had purchased a new 816ce, and while the 816 was louder I found myself going back to my 316. For me the neck is also more comfortable. I have the Taylor plugged into a Fishman Pro at church and it sounds amazing with just a touch of chorus and reverb...the ES2 system doesnt just fine if you dont push the volume on the guitar too high. Room for improvement I had to make quite a few adjustments to the saddle and trust rod to find the balance between good tone and playability. Turns out the neck geometry is slightly off. However the same was true for the 816. The trust rod is super easy to adjust and very responsive, so for me, not the end of the world. Bottom line Sounds beautiful strummin, picking, plugged in or just outside on the deck. Highly recommended.
