Sitka spruce and sapele provide balanced warmth and sparkle

This 310e acoustic-electric guitar is a prime example of the high-quality tonewoods Taylor selects for their guitars. It features time-proven Sitka spruce as its top, which gives you wonderful projection with the perfect amount of sparkle. This acoustic-electric guitar's sapele back and sides also give it a warm quality with open midrange, providing you with a well-balanced tone. Additionally, a satin finish with a gloss top offers protection, good looks, and a smooth feel to the touch.

Classic dreadnought shape delivers excellent tone and volume

The powerful voice and unrivaled projection of the traditional dreadnought body style has made it the choice of strummers and flatpickers throughout history. The naturally deep lows, crisp highs, and open, airy midrange of Taylor's dreadnought body help to balance this 310e's tone across the full sonic spectrum, giving you a sound that lends itself equally well to traditional bluegrass and folk as it does to modern acoustic rock. If you're looking for a guitar that can handle aggressive picking and driving rhythms, you're going to love this Taylor 310e acoustic-electric guitar.

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver a natural amplified sound

If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into this 310e acoustic-electric guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into this 310e's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls lets you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression.

Taylor 310e 6-string Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Sitka spruce and sapele provide balanced warmth and sparkle
  • Ebony fingerboard provides phenomenal comfort and playability
  • Classic dreadnought shape delivers excellent tone and volume
  • Non-cutaway body adds extra projection to the classic dreadnought shape
  • Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver a natural amplified sound

Absolutely Gorgeous! Sounds Fantastic!

I bought the 310e to replace my Alvarez 5034 that was stolen from my church office. It is hard to replace such an old friend that I had for 40 years. I looked at many other guitars and considered many options at various music stores and online. I finally decided upon a Taylor and called Sweetwater. Rob Kramer was extremely helpful, explaining the physical and acoustic differences between Taylor's different models. I was torn between the 210e Deluxe and the 310e and I finally settled on the 310e. I am really glad I did. The three day wait was excruciating. So was the recommended wait-time to let the guitar "acclimate" to room temperature after being on the FedEx truck for three days. But Sweetwater helps with the wait by emailing pictures of the actual guitar that is coming, not just stock marketing pictures. Once I opened it, I knew I had advanced to a completely different level of guitar craftsmanship. I was amazed at the quality of the wood and finish. This thing is a work of art! The Sitka Spruce top has very nice grain, the side edging and the trim around the sound hole are exquisite. Then I turned it over and looked at the sides and the back. What a stunningly beautiful piece of wood! Deep rich color, beautiful grain, symmetrical pattern on both sides. The neck and Ebony finger board are also wonderful. I was almost afraid to pick it up and play it...afraid that I would scratch it, mar it, or ding it. But I forced myself... This guitar sounds fantastic! It blows my old Alvarez away. The tone is full bodied, rich, with nice lows and articulate, expressive highs. The action is very nice. Whether lightly finger picking or hard strumming, this guitar sounds great. My only problem is that in my job as a pastor I don't have enough time to play it as much as I would like. I could easily lose myself in the beauty and sound of this guitar. It has inspired my to start writing songs again. In addition to the guitar, the Deluxe Hardshell Case that came with it is a quality piece of work. Rob also recommended the Chocolate Suede Custom Taylor strap. It nicely compliments the colors of the guitar and is comfortable on my shoulder. It doesn't slip and holds the guitar very steadily. I am very satisfied with the guitar, and the service I received from Rob at Sweetwater. Thanks!
Music background: Guitar player since Sophomore in HS, 1975 - solo and in small bands and praise teams, acoustic and electric (Strat and Les Paul). Have played and sung in churches, coffee houses, youth rallies, camps, etc. I write the occasional worship song, too.

310e Taylor

My Taylor arrived in perfect shape. Sweetwater had set it up and it played great. It is a beautiful guitar. The sound unpluged is good also. Not the loudest acoustic I have owned but close. The sound across the strings is pure and even. Sweetwater is the best web based sales company I have ever dealt with. Thanks Sweetwater.
