Nice product. Some things to consider.

By David Malone from Owensboro, KY on February 16, 2022 Music Background: keyboard / vocalist

1. This fit perfectly with my On-Stage "Z" stand... once I figured how to attach it. There were some written instructions. They were of little use to me. I tried the On-Stage web site. It was no better. The picture of the product was no help. No videos, no diagrams so for this visual learner. The pictures on the review is the most helpful thing I've seen.

2. You'll need something like Velcro tape to secure your 2nd keyboard to the 2nd tier.

Sturdy Like a Turt-le

By Blake Sourisseau from Stayton, OR on November 4, 2021

A great accessory for the base On-Stage z-stand! Looks so great too!

Solid, lightweight product.

By Terry from FL on October 7, 2021 Music Background: Long-time hobbyist.

This is the second, 2nd tier stand extension I've purchased from Sweetwater. Super easy to set up and solid as a rock. I do wish the second tier could go a couple inches higher, but that might make the entire rig unstable, so okay. You can't beat the price point for assembling a two keyboard rack you don't mind putting your prized instruments upon.

And you gotta love Sweetwater! Best in the biz!

Works perfect

As always, my thanks to salesperson Keaton Vegades for his help in my purchase.

Really strong, but can tip over...

By Virgil Mandanici from FL on May 24, 2021

At first, I was really impressed with this extension because I had a new synth coming in and no more room in the studio, so I might as well go up! It installed nicely, but I would be very weary of taking this out to a live show because of the potential possibility of tipping over (toward the back side) I've also stubbed my toes on the legs because they seem to extend at least 8" out from the keyboard. It seems like that the legs should be going the other way (towards the back) but it was engineered incorrectly in my opinion and it seems impossible to do anything except to engineer (myself) an extension to the legs(in the back) to avoid this from tipping over. There's thousands of dollars of equipment at risk here - I'm surprised a company would sell this, without knowing something this simple.

Prone to tipping backwards with 2nd tier

By Patrick from Eugene on April 5, 2021

The Z Stand Pro base in combination with the 2nd tier attachment is poorly designed. The 2nd tier moves the center of gravity of the entire stand backwards making the stand prone to tipping backwards when the lower tier is at standard grand keyboard height of 28" to 30"; which is between the first and second hole setting for Z Stand Pro base. I was very surprised to discover this and raised this issue with On-Stage. On-Stage asserts otherwise and says the stand is very stable; however, I have a new YC88 and AxiomPro 61 and if someone was to back into the stand from the front this could easily push the stand over backwards causing serious damage to my new YC88 (ouch!). And if the 2nd tier keyboard was heavy keyboard like the YC88 (30 to 40lbs) the risk of tipping is even greater. Will I return the stand and 2nd tier? Most likely not because I have a metal shop in my garage and replacing the horizontal feet with the correct length to eliminate the tipping risk is simple. Had I know about this before I bought, yes, I would have looked elsewhere. I have other On-Stage products that I really like, but I'm somewhat perplexed with On-Stage position.

Sturdy and Quality, but wish it was taller.

By Raymundo Silva from Lakeside, CA on February 15, 2021

The On-Stage KSA7550 is a quality piece of hardware. I purchased it to add to my On-Stage keyboard stand to use to hold music, temporarily. I was able to manipulate it to work for me. If I was using it for an additional keyboard, I feel that it doesn't lift the rack high enough from the keyboard below. The upright attachment that provides vertical adjustment needs to be longer/taller with additional adjustment positions to ensure that the upper tier keyboard doesn't interfere with he controls of the lower keyboard. Other than that issue, the 2nd Tier stand is well made.

I BOUGHT 2- 2 TEIR STANDS. THEY ARE VERY STURDY AND STRONG. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY WOBBLE AND DON'T VIBRATE OR SHAKE WHEN PLAYING A KEYBOARD. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH GRANT EMBREY AT SWEETWATER AND HE IS THE GREATEST. HE IS TRUTHFUL AND HONEST, AND IS STRAIGHT FORWARD ABOUT THE PRODUCTS.

Works with Plixio Piano Keyboard Stand

By Gregory Stewart from Seymour, CT on April 23, 2020

This fit right over the square stock of my Plixio Piano Stand. I then used self tapping machine screws to secure it.

Perfect 2nd Tier!

Love it—able to mount my two keyboards on one stand, very sturdy, well constructed!

The KSA7550 2nd Tier Keyboard Stand

By Mac from Columbus, OH on April 22, 2019 Music Background: Songwriter, Music Producer and Musician

I recently purchased the On-Stage KSA7550 2nd Tier Keyboard Stand to add additional flexibility for my On-Stage Z Stand and my purchase from Sweetwater was hassle free and as advertised. Upon arrival I noticed right out of the box, how well made the KSA7550 was constructed. This thing is built like a tank and fit my Z-Stand like a glove. I truly love the fact that unlike most aftermarket 2nd Tiers that only allow you to adjust the angle, the KSA7550 includes height adjustment as well. For me this, this is what sold me on the KSA7550, and I would highly recommend the KSA7550 to anyone in the market for a fully adjustable, heavy duty 2nd Tier Keyboard Stand to add to their On-Stage Z-Stand. Thank you again Sweetwater for your quality products and outstanding service.

Perfect!

By Sippy from Las Vegas on January 28, 2019 Music Background: Drummer, keyboardist - home-studio producer

I have gone far too long using only one keyboard in my setup! The time finally came when I needed to pick up my other keyboard off the ground and put it to use – now if I only had a way to do that. Something quick and simple. Enter the On-Stage KSA7550 2nd Tier stand! This stand is perfect! After only a minute of some tweaks and adjustments, I was on my way!

My lower keyboard is a Roland JUNO DS (88 key) and my upper keyboard is an old Yamaha PSR series keyboard used as a controller. The stand is very sturdy and holds my Yamaha with no problem. The stand adjusts nicely, and easily. Very happy with it.

Simple and works

Fits right in

The second tier fits snugly onto my base stand. Very adjustable so I can have both keyboards at the perfect height. Solid construction means nuttin' is goin' nowhere.

Excellent product!

By Rick Carey from Teays Valley, WV on February 3, 2017

Very well built. I really wasn't expecting such high quality for such a low price. Had to fabricate a bit to fit my Hammond stand, but it was not a complicated fix.

2nd Tier

By Tad from Hope Mills, NC US on April 1, 2014 Music Background: Hobbiest, Church musician

Fits well, only really needed a screw driver to pop the end caps. I haven't redrilled the sides because it is tight enough without. I would buy it again thanks Zach et al.

Second tier--didnt fit onstage z stand perfectly but well enuf

By D Wagner from South Dakota on April 15, 2013 Music Background: Pro Keyboardist, hobbyist guitar player

Well, the second tier was supposed to fit an On Stage Z Stand, but it didn't fit perfecly. It fit well enough. I like having two tiers, and I like the second tier product, but it just doesn't fit perfectly.

Drill to fit

By Jim M. from Texas on July 12, 2011 Music Background: Hobbyist

I needed to drill two holes to make this fit my On-Stage 7350 stand even though it was only 1.5 years old. Not a hard job, but would have been nice if it came already drilled for older (not much!) stands. The product description warns about this, so no surprise.
Once assembled, everything fits well and becomes a very sturdy 2 tier stand with easy height/angle adjustments.
