    Thunderbolt - yeah

No problems, well-behaved drive and best of all, I can use my Thunderbolt port without having a cable converter :-)
I'll give it 5 stars if it never gives up on me, but you'll have to dial me in a few years down the road for me to know that.

    Lacie 2Big Thunderbolt… first raid

I am a video edit doing working in Final Cut X and Motion. I got my new MacPro and was still having some delays in the video…. becuase I didn't have a raid. Very smooth playback now with my new Lacie. The first one that shipped had a faulty Thunderbolt interface…. but since the drive was replaced I have not had any issues. I have had it for 2 weeks now. The current project is numerous level of HD video in Motion.

    Good so far.

Reasonably good design. Sadly using on a PC w/o Thunderbolt 2 atm, will very likely purchase a mobo with Thunderbolt 2 built in in the very near future, if still available.
Installation was not quite as smooth as I'd have liked, took some restarting and bios tweaking to even get recognized, and then seemed to require a reformat, even though it should have already been formatted. Disc Management in Win 8.1 Pro 64b showed it as unformatted, though Win 8 supposedly can read exFat.
After that, it has been running, and backing up well using the included Genie software. With HDs though, it is a matter of how durable they are, and that can only be know with time.
I also wish the drives were not so proprietary, and hope that I can at some point upgrade their size by switching to a Raid1 setup, switching out 1 drive, letting it repair, and then switching the other, without having to spend twice as much on the specific LaCie replacement drives.

    Not so Good for me

I purchased two of these for mirror raid to back up buy out music and sound effects.
Once I turned on my computer I MAC- went to the music drive and it was empty. Everything was gone.
Had to launch disk utility and reformat the drive and then replace all the music. Did not complain to sweetwater. Just did it. Things working fine for a month or so then the the other hard drive with sound effects caught the same cold. Turn on my computer went to grab some sfx and ZIP.. all gone! Vanished overnight. Nothing there. Tried to do the same thing with disk utility but the drive will not unmount and I cannot re-format the drive
These machines are a good idea but the two I have work like junk. Brand New not refurbished.
Really frustrated and very disappointed -- Started looking at Glyph but they don't have models with drives
that can be replaced that are Thunderbolt. I am fed up!
