Sweetwater Advice

Aaron Rom

I got the Sabian AAX Memphis Ride to be a good secondary ride, but I find myself using it more than I thought I would. It sounds a little darker than most other AAX models, and it can develop a nice wash when riding on it. With a name like Memphis Ride, one would think it would be great fit for blues, jazz, and rock, but I've been really surprised at how well it also handles progressive metal. This is a great cymbal for those who are looking for something that sounds and looks a little bit different. Definitely a cymbal worth checking out, whether adding it like I did as a secondary ride, or as the main ride in your setup.
