5 years still going strong

By Sweetwater Customer on January 15, 2024

I bought this to replace my old equalizer that died in my home stereo system to allow better fine tuning of the speakers to the room they are in than just the high and low dials on the receiver give you. This equalizer is worth every penny. It does not have a power on switch therefore it's been powered on for over five years in my system with no issues. All leds still work. No sliders have become weak or broken. This unit is a workhorse and would recommend any day of the week.

Great Equalizer!

By Ted St.Pierre from Bethel Maine on December 18, 2023 Music Background: Studio owner and engineer 43 years

I bought this E.Q. to tame the high end on a pair of tower speakers with extended high frequency response
(40 khz). Without this E.Q. these speakers were painful to listen to.
This unit works perfectly in this application and I am very happy with it.
My sakes rep always follows through.

Great Equalizer For The Price

By John Cornelius from Ellwood City, PA on December 20, 2022 Music Background: Disc Jockey

Put one of these in my audio rack and glad I did. It fine tunes the overall sound of my system to each specific venue / room with very little effort. If your looking for a great EQ at an affordable price you can't go wrong with unit.

Better than ever

By Brien Holcombe from Mobile, Alabama on September 20, 2022

My acoustical tuned room took all the highs out of the listening experience. So we added this eq and got control over the sound. Got those highs back and a little bit more.

Great value

By Josh on May 26, 2022

Using this in a small home studio mostly on synths and a drum machine so far, and it's great. I like some of the features that other eqs don't have, such as an input gain stage. Haven't gotten around to putting the guitar through it yet, but I already know it's going to be awesome playing around with the mid frequencies. Nice power supply cable (no wall-wart!) is also a huge plus! Fifteen bands per side, and a very nice price. dbx!!!

What The Doctor Ordered

I am "re-outfitting my church's P.A. system and the graphic was just one more necessary piece of gear. Sweetwater has been very helpful during this process. --- Steve Huston

Don't hesistate

By M from CA on December 13, 2018

I was concerned because this is the budget version of the DBX EQ. No more concerns. Each frequency has a dramatic effect on the sound. I was able to dial in my system perfectly. What a difference. I previously had a Rane EQ in my rack which was dropping out and, I now realize, sounded terrible. Always go DBX. I'm likely to buy another of these for my monitors.

Great For Home Use Too

By Pyramider from PA on February 12, 2017 Music Background: Recording engineer, electronics background, 40+ yrs

I have this patched through the vintage Harman/Kardon power amp in my living room, and it made all the difference! Quiet, and really helped match the system to the room. It doesn't have an on/off switch, but that doesn't matter for me because the H/K has a switched outlet on the back. Very pleased.

EQ - dbx by Harmon Dual 15 Band

By Sweetwater Customer from Midwest USA on December 8, 2017 Music Background: Pro Musician 40+ years

12/8/17 This EQ works as it should. Made in China. I bought it for live PA use to replace an old EQ in my rack. I needed and EQ with XLR in and outs along with the TRS ins and outs option for versatility. I wanted a name brand product with a good quality record for longevity. I stay away from Behringer because of its shaky reputation for issues and long term reliability. I would have bought the peavey but it offered XLR ONLY ins and outs. The price point is where it should be on the Peavey. It like all others now, is also China made.

I use the dbx unit with the +- 12 button on. To me that allows the eq work like the others I have had in the past at its full potential. I will use it with the Harmon Soundcraft Signature 22 mixer live.
The manual states: May contain Lithium battery. Replace with CR 2032.Hmmm.

Seems to be a good unit if your will to over pay for it. It carries the GREAT Sweetwater 2 year warranty for peace of mind. Thanks Sweetwater !

Powerful Piece for the studio

By Sweetwater Customer on May 15, 2016 Music Background: studio musician/composer

I have a small studio and this has helped smooth out the low end and clean up the mid's which will in turn help the quality of my recordings. 15 band is plenty and this thing is quiet and doesn't seem to add any color or vibe, just eq to my ears.

By Daniel Saxton from Sunbury, Pennsylvania on October 13, 2014 Music Background: Live Sound Engineer & Disc Jockey

Outstanding 2/3 octive EQ. delivers the performance as promised. Compact, one rack space design, with everything needed to enhance the sound output of my system. The 12db boost / cut selection buttons are a great addition.

Can't go wrong

By J Schneider from North Central Illinois on April 1, 2014 Music Background: A live, mixing, mastering, DJ, engineer musician.

I needed an inexpensive eq to tame a few frequencies in my monitors, and this unit fit the bill. Solid construction, no frills, a known brand and great sound with no noise. With XLR and trs connections on the back, it can insert it in on any rig I need it for.

Works well

By Clmber from Usa Midwest on January 1, 2018 Music Background: Pro musician

The dbx eq works as expected and does a good job. It offers the great option of TRS ins and outs as well as XLR's. To get the full benefit of use, press the + 12db button to increase the hz eq range. This range is standard with most eq's.
I do not believe it is competitively priced. It should be about $30 cheaper for what you are getting so I gave it a 4 star rating.

just as I expected

By Don Mailloux from United States on March 13, 2014 Music Background: 37 years as a pro musician and live sound person

Clean, quiet and effective. It does what i need it to do and I like it.

Great Little Stereo EQ

By Nathan from Bloomington,IL on December 15, 2011 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Live Sound Engineer.

I needed a one space stereo EQ To replace some old ones in a couple portable PA Systems and I found these guys. They work great. DBX always makes quality gear. Sweetwater has the great price and how can you pass that up. Love the option of Balanced and Unbalanced I/O's. I highly suggest you grab one you won't be dissappointed.
