The Event 20/20BAS studio monitors have proven to be just the kick my home studio needed! My mixes are now cleaner and have greater depth because I'm able to make better decisions. These speakers can move some serious air and are built like a tank!
I had a pair of KRK Rokit 6" and they were loud, but not very clear... kind of muddy. So I went and search for a more serious pairing of monitors. Nate always humors me with my questions to get to what is right for me. He recommend a few options low, mid, and high cost to give me contrast of what my money would buy me. I typically go for the mid-range in cost. Maybe one day I will have an unlimited supply of cash flow, but for now it matters. As soon as I got these guys setup, I did not feel like I compromised at all on value/quality. I had listened to a few select songs on my KRK system before switching over so I could compare. WOW! The mid range was very well represented and the bass and upper ranges had punch to them as well. They are just a very well balanced piece of gear. They also work great with the Ultimate Support stands with the angled platforms. I could not be happier! If you are looking for high qualify on a moderate budget, then don't hesitate to grab a pair of these. You can't go wrong!
If you have been hesitant in getting into the 8"ish studio monitor range...you can be rest assured these bad boys will make you feel glad you finally bought into them. Get right in the sweet spot of these things and I bet you would be hard pressed to find any monitors better in this price range. The low end is there...not over powering ..it's just there. Thanks to Brian VanDeKeere at Sweetwater for making sure I got the right monitors for my stuff. I do a lot of electronic music that requires low end monitoring and these things worked out fantastic!
Nothing but the truth
I'm not the greatest mixing engineer but these bad boys make me feel like Iam. So far I've only mixed one song on these bad boys and I never heard any of my mixes sound so good. The bass is there and it's unhyped so are the highs.. Do your self a favor and grab a pair of these.
They sounds great, no doubt about that. I was a bit skeptical since it is made in China, but the build quality is solid and the warranty length is the same as the Opals.. The actual finish is a bit flatter than what it looks like in the picture, but I still dig 'em.
Just think it was a little bogus that the manufacturer would do a "limited time offer" on the instant rebate when it seems like the price really isn't going to ever go up.
