Legendary Marshall Muscle!

Nothing personifies the image of rock 'n' roll more completely than a wall of Marshall stacks. Though often imitated, nothing compares to the original. The 1960B is the straight version that features 4 G12T-75 speakers and is the perfect addition to your stage or recording rig! It's ideal for players who appreciate clarity and quality.

Marshall 1960B at a Glance:
  • The ultimate in flexibility
  • Clear and true
  • Offers that low-end thump
  • Sonically superior
  • Rugged and ready for the road

The ultimate in flexibility
To ensure the ultimate in flexibility, the 1960B is switchable between mono (4 or 16 ohms) and stereo (8 ohms per side). The two mono impedance options provide extra amp matching capability while the cabinet's stereo capability makes it ideal for rack systems which typically run in stereo.

Clear and true
The 1960B produces a loud, well-focused, and uncluttered sound with a tight, full low end and a crisp, clear top. It projects well across the guitar's entire tonal range and its clarity makes it ideal for players who like using a fair amount of effects such as reverb, chorus, or delay as it doesn't mask or muddy-up such FX. Its all-around versatility and relatively uncolored nature makes this one of Marshall's best-selling cab. It represents the sound of the guitar and head most accurately.

The Marshall 1960 cabinets are the best-selling amp cabinets in the world and are standard on stages everywhere for their sound and rugged construction. While not complicated electronically, the effects of their materials, construction, and speakers make the 1960s the choice of players everywhere and have made them the industry standard to this day.

Offers that low-end thump
1960B (base) cabinets offer some sonic differences. A straight cab sounds more focused and has more low-end thump. The additional size gives the cabinet a lower resonant frequency for more low end. All speakers facing the same direction allows for a more focused sound. Many players prefer to use only the B cabs, even when they are onstage with a full stack. Zakk Wylde (Ozzy's guitarist) uses only the B cabs because of the tighter low end and because (believe it or not) he values his hearing and the sound from the B cab doesn't hit him directly in the head.

Sonically superior
Marshall is the only choice for serious musicians. Nothing compares to Marshall cabinets in terms of awesome tone and projection. Both visually and aurally, Marshall 4 x 12" cabs are indeed rock 'n' roll history in a stack!

Rugged and ready for the road
Roadworthiness is a vital prerequisite in the world of relentless touring. As Marshall's 40 years of cabinet building attest, Marshall cabinets are definitely built to stand the test of time! Their highly skilled craftsmen construct these 4 x 12" cabinets from the finest materials available - 15mm birch plywood with precision comb joints, cotton-backed PVC covering, heavy-duty hardware, and the highest quality fittings. Weighing in at around 80 lbs., the JCM1960B is made of 15mm birch plywood (except for the back panel, which is medium density fiberboard) and built for tone, projection, and durability. The majority of the cabinet construction is done by hand.

Marshall 1960B Features:
  • 300-watt, 4 x 12" straight cabinet
  • 4/16 ohm mono or 8-ohm stereo
  • 4 x 75-watt G12T-75 speakers
  • Black grille cloth and white piping
  • Large white logo
  • Black elephant grain vinyl
Marshall offers a wide range of cabinets that are not only perfect for your needs, but they will also last you a lifetime!

Perfect Tone

I have the 25 Watt Greenbacks, Vintage 30's and now two of these 75 Watt beauty's. I've read a lot of comparisons of these reviews and here's mine 2 cents. There's a little EQ difference and they handle the low end much better with the volume up. Especially with the effects.
Very nice indeed.

Marshall 1960B

I have a wall of 4x12 cabs I use different tones.
This is an amazing sounding cab that holds its own with the low end. I use this one for blues rock and it's perfect.
Music background: Guitarist forever

There are countless "British"-style guitar amplifiers out there, but take it from the lifelong guitarists and tone connoisseurs at Sweetwater, when it comes to Marshall tone, there's nothing like the real thing. We've played them all, from vintage JTM45s and the ultra-cool Plexi reissue to modern handmade masterpieces such as the JVM410. There isn't a model among them we can't recommend with total confidence, and that includes their more affordable models too, like MG, DSL, and Code series amps. Thanks to our tight relationship with Marshall, Sweetwater's always on the cutting edge of their latest designs, custom models, and limited-edition gems. If you want iconic tone from across the pond, you want Marshall, and your Sweetwater Sales Engineer will help you find the perfect one.
