Supro 1675RT Rhythm Master Tube Combo Guitar Amplifier at a Glance:
  • Switchable Class A/Class AB power amp wiring adds modern headroom and versatility
  • Custom 15" driver delivers vintage tone with modern power handling
  • Output-tube tremolo and all-tube reverb create exciting tonal textures
  • Supro - a brief history
Switchable Class A/Class AB power amp wiring adds modern headroom and versatility

Although it's packed with the classic raw, overdriven tone that Supro made famous, the 1675RT Rhythm Master also includes switchable power amp wiring that imbues the Rhythm Master with modern headroom and gigging versatility. You're given the choice of a 35-watt (Class A, cathode-biased) or 45-watt (Class AB, grid-biased) 5U4 tube rectifier mode, as well as a high-power 60-watt (Class AB, grid-biased) solid state rectifier setting.

Custom 15" driver delivers vintage tone with modern power handling

Featuring a custom 15" driver, the Supro 1675RT Rhythm Master is packed full of vintage character with modern power handling. Supro worked hand-in-hand with Eminence to combine the best elements of classic Jensen C15PS and JBL D130 speakers with modern construction methods and materials. The result is a powerful sound with plenty of volume and powerful bottom end.

Output-tube tremolo and all-tube reverb create exciting tonal textures

Thanks to the Supro 1675RT Rhythm Master's switchable power amp, it delivers two different tremolo effects. When using the Class A, cathode-biased setting, the Rhythm Master yields a vintage Valco/Supro tremolo that responds beautifully to the dynamics of your playing. The Class AB, grid-biased setting provides you with a deeper, stronger throbbing effect. And because the Rhythm Master creates its tremolo effect by modulating the bias of its output tubes, the reverb comes before the tremolo, producing tube-soaked pandemonium when both are used simultaneously.

Supro - a brief history

Supro's roots can be traced back to the 1930s, when the National Reso-Phonic and Dobro guitar companies merged to form a manufacturing entity called Valco. Valco manufactured Spanish acoustic guitars, metal-faced resonator guitars, and electric lap steel guitars under a variety of brand names, including Airline, Oahu, and National. They also designed amplifiers for several other companies such as Gretsch, Harmony, and Kay. It was during this time that Valco also began producing guitars and amplifiers under the Supro name. Extremely popular among Southside Chicago blues musicians in the 1960s, Supro amplifiers proved equally popular with the British musicians who were influenced by them. By the late 1960s, notable guitarists ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Albert Lee to Jimmy Page were seen playing Supro amplifiers. Original Supro amps often sell for premium prices on the used market because of their legendary unique tone.
