Nice Cables

Nice-looking fiber-covered cables. It seems that because they are a bit beefier, they lay flatter and coil less than other cables. Using it for a bass guitar, no "loose" play in the instrument's jack. Ends are solidly sealed and don't unscrew easily.

Better options available...

I've had several of these cables in the past, in varying lengths and colors. I really like most Fender products, with these cables being the one exception. Custom shop? Hmmm. Even the standard cables that come free with their guitars are much better than these. Yes, these look cool... but so did the Fiero. The shrink-wrapped ends loosen over time, and will constantly slide down the cable. The not-so-solid connectors tend to follow suit, and become noisy as they fall apart. Lots of crackle and hiss, and they even sound thin and shrill when brand-new. When winding these up quickly or sliding them through your hands, the tweed gives you a pretty annoying burn. I know that the "perceived" quality of a mid-priced cable will appeal to many beginners, but be forewarned... you will replace them. For almost pennies more, you could look into the Pro Co Lifelines or Evolution. Without spending "Mogami" money, those are significantly better built.
