A Killer 000 for Working Guitarists

The solid-wood 000RS1 delivers acclaimed Martin quality at a remarkably low price. The newest member of Martin's Road Series, the 000RS1 offers performing musicians the satisfying sound of an all sapele body, something singer-songwriters and Sweetwater love because it leaves a bit of room for vocals to breath. To bring that rich and warm sound to life onstage, Martin outfitted this comfortable 14-fret 000 acoustic with a Fishman Sonitone electronics system and its modified low oval neck is a hit with a wide range of gigging guitarists.

Martin 000RS1 Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Solid Sapele gives your vocals sonic space
  • True Martin craftsmanship plays like a dream
  • Ready-to-play electronics for live performance
Solid Sapele gives your vocals sonic space

The Martin 000RS1 uses solid tonewoods that typically aren't found on a guitar this affordable. The top, back, and sides are made from solid sapele, which has the same richness and depth mahogany is used for. Not only does that tonewood combination offer extra rich and warm lows with clear high, it naturally scoops a bit of the mids, offering a bit of breathing room for vocals.

True Martin craftsmanship plays like a dream

A member of Martin's Road series, the 000RS1 gives you amazing sound and snappy good looks in a roadworthy instrument. Top, back and sides are braced for maximum resonance and projection, and the 000RS1's smooth-playing, modified low oval neck is built with select hardwood for extra rigidity and durability. The belly bridge and fingerboard are made of Black Richlite, which has a similar look and feel to ebony. But you've only got to strum it once to know that you're holding a Martin.

Ready-to-play electronics for live performance

The 000RS1 is equipped with the Fishman Sonitone pickup system, which gives you great-sounding plug-and-play output, onstage and in the studio. The Sonitone system puts volume and tone controls directly in the soundhole for easy access.

Martin 000RS1 Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • An extremely affordable solid-wood Martin for gigging musicians
  • Sapele top, back and, sides offer a rich melodic tone with excellent low-end warmth
  • Modified low oval select hardwood neck topped with Richlite feels great and travels well
  • Outfitted with Fishman Sonitone electronics to make playing live easy
Get excellent warmth onstage or in the studio with a Martin 000RS1 Road Series acoustic-electric guitar!

Martin 000RS1

Martin has hit a home run with these road series models. I initially set out to buy the 00015M, but this 000RS1 included the pickup that I needed and cost about half what the American version is going for. I didn't care where it is made as long as the quality was the there, and it is there! Not a flaw could be found inside or out. It's made in Mexico but it's indeed a real Martin! Perfect neck angle on mine, and is the first new Martin I've purchased that was set-up to perfection and ready to play right out of the box. The neck on mine is a solid one piece hardwood and has a soft V profile. I prefer it over the modified low oval neck profile that's on my Martin J-15. Both profiles are great playing necks, but the soft V has a little more heft to it and adds to the tone and sustain. This is my first guitar with the Richlite fretboard and I love it. Looks and feels just like real ebony. The Fishman Sonitone pickup sounds very good for a piezo. It's very rich and full. My first impression of the sound of this guitar playing it for the first time was that it was just OK. After changing out the Micarta saddle out to bone and putting on my preferred strings, it went from just OK to exceptional. Love the full, rich sound this small body guitar produces. And it rings out on the higher end and sustains just as well as my '04 Martin D-35. Great finger picked but also sounds great strummed with a pick. If your looking at one of these, buy it now! as the price will surely go up. Just make sure to change out the Micarta saddle to bone before judging it. When you consider all your getting at this price with the pickup and hardshell case included. It's a steal at this price. My hats off to Brian Kerns @ Sweetwater for the exceptional service I always receive.

A dream come true

I always dreamt with a Martin guitar. I knew it for the first time watching Clapton's MTV Unplugged and since them I love it. This model is gorgeous and has a great sound, although of course not so great as the top models. But unless you're a very very talented and skillful guitarist, this guitar is more than sufficient. I'm totally in love with it! Finally, I have to say how wonderful Sweetwater service is. The guitar arrived in two days, with free shipping and a guy named Ed called me to pass and check some information. They are really attentive of their customers and really careful about the quality of their products. Congrats, guys! I'm spreading your name to my friends.
Music background: I'm a singer and guitarist, but I play as a hobby. I've had a blues band a long time ago and have onde solo album recorded.

Martin Road Series

Yeah this is a sweet guitar for the money. Looked at the D series but wanted a little smaller body without giving up sound and it hits the bullseye. Dan R. Tech Thanks for the help with this one. Comes with a nice Martin hardcase, and the rear strap pin is in a bag in the case. Thought it was missing at first but figured it out and I like that it is removable. The other plus was I didn't even know it came with a pup. It's in the sound hole under and at the top with bass and treble knobs. Soundwize it is the "Martin" sound for sure. Nice bass and highs not to overwhelming over your voice. Body isn't much smaller than the Dread but it is smaller just enough to notice. Great guitar for the price. Thanks Dan "your the man" always good to talk to you. Ps:more tootsie rolls next time!

Good Price, Great Sound

I love this guitar. I have owned my Martin 000RS1 for about a year now and it does not disappoint. Sounds great, clean, and clear. One thing I will say is it lacks a little bit of volume. This can obviously be fixed when sent through a PA system. However, the pickups inside of this guitar ARE pretty weak, and there are no on board controls for volume, bass or treble. I highly suggest picking up a preamp belt clip for this guitar. It makes it so much louder and better. I use the LR Baggs gigpro acoustic preamp. sounds fantastic when plugged in. Happy playing!
