Hi there! My name is Ryan Clapper.
I hail from Canton, Ohio and I came to Sweetwater fresh out of the studio. I bring with me the perspective of a professional audio engineer who was trained on both analog and digital technologies, and who knows the business that studios are up against in today's world. I aim to use the knowledge that I gained out in the field to help my customers reach new levels of musicianship and proficiency with the gear that they use for their craft and/or their hobby!
I am a self proclaimed gear-head and I am a complete audio nerd and I'm proud of it! I love getting to know my customers and becoming a friend to them! It's really rewarding to essentially work for your friends who happen to be all over the world and from all walks of life.
The bottom line is, when I elected to go to college for music I knew that I was choosing my profession out of love and for the pursuit of happiness. I am glad we can all share the true wealth of music and I hope to help my customers make their music and audio the best it can possibly be!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Before coming to Sweetwater I was working as an engineer/producer at a professional recording studio in Columbus, Ohio called Oranjudio.
I'm most savvy with products that relate to the art of recording as well as those products which go hand in hand with my primary instrument which happens to be electric guitar. I'm also well versed in synthesis and MIDI as I have recently taken up keyboard.
I have two wonderful parents Dave and Jill Clapper and one ornery younger brother named Nathan who has also chosen to follow a life path in music! I don't think this section would be complete though without mentioning my best buddy Hank (my 9 year old puggle)! I love him to death and he is truly my best friend. If you aren't familiar with the breed it's a mix between a beagle and a pug!
I drink entirely too much coffee and spend many of my waking hours in coffee-shops around town. I love vinyl! I seriously go to records stores far to much for my own good and my collection is constantly threatening to overtake my small apartment!
My experience out in the field on both sides of the glass in recording studios has prepared me most for helping my customers needs.
The biggest gig I've played would have been for a crowd of around 750 people at a venue in my hometown of Canton, Ohio where my band 40's played with Attack Attack! shortly after they got signed to Rise. It was super exciting and energy filled from start to finish!
At the last studio that I had the opportunity to work we did a whole lot of work for local groups who were all notable in my book! We did some work at the studio for Mac Miller when he was in town for a show and my buddy ran the board and mixed at The Newport in Columbus for a live Flo Rida record that WalMart put out. We also did some work for the creator of the show Squidbillies on Cartoon Network.
Dear Ryan - I cannot over-emphasize how appreciative I am of your patience and help with this very trying transaction. I am blown away by your willingness to go way [above] and beyond any reasonable expectation of customer service. There is no way we would have had the stands in time without your outstanding work. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Ryan. He helped me with all of my questions and could not have been more thorough from start to finish. I really appreciate this because I live in a small town, and it can be hard to get the items I want especially in left handed. Once again, Thanks!!!

Terrific job by Ryan Clapper! He was very helpful in determining which guitar to order. Excellent product knowledge and customer service! I would buy from Sweetwater again because of the support and assistance of Ryan Clapper. The web site is tremendous in that you can view guitars prior to purchase.
