Allen & Heath has announced the expansion of their Xone DJ range, with the launch of the Xone:42 high-performance 4-channel DJ mixer with USB audio interface. Designed to seamlessly interface with most current DJ technology, the Xone:42 has an ergonomic, intuitive layout, making it one of the easiest to use hi-tech mix tools around, according to Xone Designer, Andy Rigby-Jones. The feature set is built around four dual-input stereo channels: Channels 1 and 4 are phono/line, while channels 2 and 3 are line only. All four channels have 3-band EQ, a 9-segment, 3-color bar meter, gain control, and 60mm VCA faders with illuminated X/Y crossfader selection. Its legendary Voltage Control Filter is included on each channel via illuminated assignment switches, with selectable filter type, resonance, and frequency controls.
Allen & Heath has also expanded its iLive digital mixing system by adding iDR0, a brand-new processing unit, and has announced the release of iLive system software version 1.2. The iDR0 is a 2U rack unit that provides all the processing features of the iLive system for networked audio systems, but instead of slots for I/O modules, the iDR0 offers two EtherSound ports, which provide all the audio inputs and outputs of the system. This is a cost-effective and compact solution for users who wish to mix common sources for different applications such as FOH and Monitor, or need an additional mix for broadcast or recording that allows full processing and mix capability with the source material. The iDR0 unit is modular and includes processing for 64 inputs, with full dynamics and EQ, into 32 mixes, also with dynamics, EQ, and graphic EQ.
