Common question around here lately from Mac-types:
"Should I update my audio/music Macs to OS8?" |
If you will be installing copy-protected music/audio software in the very near future, the answer is probably not!
It has come to our attention that the most common copy-protection scheme – Pace copy protection – may not correctly install onto a computer running OS8. Most major music software companies, as well as most 3rd party plug-in manufacturers, use this method of copy protecting their software packages. Until this issue is resolved, we are recommending sticking with system 7.5.5 or 7.6.1.
You MAY also be able to avoid problems if you install the necessary copy-protected applications BEFORE upgrading to system 8.
