At Summer NAMM, just a few weeks ago, PreSonus unveiled their latest audio interfaces, the AudioBox iOne and the AudioBox iTwo. These latest members of the venerable AudioBox family are compact, lightweight, and made to be used on the go. They’re compatible with Mac, Windows PC, and (as you probably guessed by the “i” appellation) iPad.
The AudioBox iOne features a mic input, an instrument input, stereo line outs, and a stereo headphone out. Latency-free tracking is possible with “Direct” switch. The AudioBox iTwo ups the ante to two mic/line/instrument inputs, a variable “mix” control for latency-free tracking, and MIDI input and output. Both AudioBox i’s feature switchable phantom power, and can be bus powered from a computer or powered by an iPad charger when used with iOS. The onboard preamps feature PreSonus’s renowned award-winning class A designs.
Each interface comes with a free copy of the Capture Duo app, for recording two tracks simultaneously, as well as a copy of Studio One Free. Capture, available for $9.99, allows you to record up to 32 simultaneous inputs with an iPad. A great new feature is ability to Wi-Fi transfer audio and session data from Capture and Capture Duo running on a iPad directly into Studio One running on a Mac or Windows PC.
