Mouse Movement with TV as Computer Monitor

Q: I used your Tech Tip on setting overscan to adjust the video output of my Mac Mini to fit my television, but now my mouse is acting sort of weird. The cursor seems to lag behind the mouse movement.

A: Assuming that the mouse works fine when the computer is plugged into a regular computer monitor — meaning that the mouse isn’t defective or suffering from some other ailment), we would suspect the television. Many televisions have a menu setting that allows you to switch display mode from HD video to “PC” mode. We’ve found that changing this setting to “PC” when using the TV with a computer can solve these sorts of issues.
