The collection of stellar axes Joe Bonamassa uses to achieve his tones is legendary (including three — yes, three — vintage ‘bursts and more. Now you can own a twin of the remarkable 1961 ES-335 he owns and uses! The Gibson Memphis Joe Bonamassa ES-335 limited-run signature model duplicates Joe’s amazing semi-hollowbody axe, and features a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple top and back, a one-piece mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard and nylon nut, and a holly headstock veneer with mother-of-pearl inlays. The neck is carved to Joe’s specifications, and is just a tiny bit smaller than the round ’59 Gibson profile carve.
The signal comes from a pair of ’57 Classic pickups, which provide a fat, singing tone with plenty of clarity and bite on the top end, run through CTS tone and volume pots with the famed “bumblebee”” caps. The hardware includes an ABR-1 bridge, a lightweight aluminum tailpiece (screwed down tight to the top of the guitar and top-wrapped, just like Joe does it), and tulip-button TonePros tuners.
The finish is duplicated from Joe’s vintage ’61 ES-335, and it’s been given the V.O.S. aging treatment for true authenticity. A Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity and a Custom Shop case are included.
