Can I use my Apogee Quartet With my iPad?
Q: I love my Apogee Quartet with my Mac, but I would like to be able to use it with my iPad. I saw that the new ones are compatible with iOS — what about my older one?
A: Absolutely — all Apogee Quartet USB audio interfaces are compatible with iOS. For existing units, only two things are required:
1. Update the Quartet firmware to the February 2013 version (or newer). This is a free download from Apogee’s site. A Mac is required to install the firmware update.
2. A USB to 30-pin cable. Newer Quartets include this cable. If yours didn’t come with one, contact Apogee. In some cases, you may qualify for a free cable. In other cases, a cable can be purchased from their site. If you have a new iOS device with a Lightning connector, an Apple 30-pin to Lightning adapter is required.
