Following on the success of the 501 and 511 500-series modules, Electrodyne released the 2501 discrete two-stage rackmount studio preamp and 2511 two-band rackmount inductor EQ at the 2013 AES show. Based on classic 1969/1970 designs, the 2501 was built using original factory engineering notes and uses custom transformers from the original manufacturer. Features include active DI inputs, 68dB of gain, 20dB pad, selectable microphone impedance, and more.
The 2511 inductor EQ uses a classic two-band discrete transistor reciprocal active inductor design based on the company’s vintage units from 1969/1970. Features include +/- 12dB of gain, four selectable frequencies per band, a peak/shelf function per band, frequency response from 10Hz to 70kHz, and signal-to-noise of -85dB.
