USB 3.0 Windows 7 compatible audio recording/mixing interface

I have a rather good laptop/ultrabook, with RAID SSDs, Core i7, and it's light enough to carry around.
But it only has USB 3.0 and USB based optical LightPeak ports. No USB 2.0, no card ports.
The machine runs Windows 7, and going to Windows 8 is not an option.
I bought a Propellerhead Reason with Balance interface, but that turned out not to work. It's pretty much incompatible with USB 3.0 under Windows 7.
I have a MOTU UltraLite, but the old model with just FireWire, so I can't use that. I thought about getting the newer model with both FireWire and USB, but according to forum messages, it's not compatible with USB 3.0 under Windows 7 either.
Do anyone here have any audio recording interface that they use with Windows 7 on a machine without USB 2.0? That supports both instrument level input and phantom powered mics?
