Foot controller for Guitar Rig

I have Native Instruments Guitar Rig 5, and need a good foot controller. I've looked in to a few, and found a major downfall. Many don't have the capability to send on/off signals( I don't know what kind of signal that would be in MIDI terms); they only have the ability to switch between presets. I saw that there's an unofficial firmware for Behringer's FCB1010 that allows half of the foot switches to operate in "stomp box" mode, turning these switches into on/off controllers. So far this looks like my best bet. The other pedal that I've been looking at is Roland's FC300 and wondering if this unit operates with the same preset-change capability as others. Thanks.

Thank you, I'll be looking into that. It looks like that may be exactly what I want for my setup.
