Logic Pro 9 Digi 003R MPC 5000 HELP!!

I'm still learning the ins and outs of home recording. I just need a little help trying to get the ADAT (optical light pipe) from my MPC 5000 to my ADAT in on my Digi 003R to produce sound using Logic pro. Any assistance will be greatly welcome.
My setup follows: iMac 27" 2.93GHz i7, 10GB memory on OS X 10.8.2, Akai MPC 5000, logic Pro 9.1.8.
