Direct Out Mixer

Does anyone know of a decently priced (less than $500) mixer (preferably not Behringer) that has direct outputs for recording of the board?

The Allen & Heath ZED-12FX console has usb out. It will work with almost any audio recording software.

Unfortunately the Zed, and most of the mixers in that price range with USB outputs, only have stereo outs. The one one I can think of offhand that has direct outs via USB is Alesis's Multi Mix 8 USB2. The sixteen-channel model is a bit over $500.

How many tracks do you want to record at a time?
What are you going to use for A-D conversion?
If you want to be able to add or replace tracks, what will you use for D-A conversion for monitoring?
