Newbie and mic for NAF & acoustic guitar

Little digger

I'm a newbie and instead of trying to read all the threads, I have a specific question for all those experienced engineers on here. I would like to record a Native American Flute and acoustic guitar using a MacBook Pro.
What would be your recommendation for a CD quality microphone, and what other gear would I need to faithfully record the instruments, especially the NAF? Can I plug the mic directly in to the MacBook ? Can I get such a mic for under a thousand dollars? I want to make pro sounding CDs which can then be mastered and released. I'll probably use Garage Band, too, for some songs.
Thank you for your time and valued suggestions.

Under $1k I suggest a Sound Devices USB Pre http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/USBPre2/ for an interface paired with a RODE NT5 http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/NT5Sing/. This will work if you can record one instrument at a time. If you can swing a little more, you can get the NT5 "stereo" pack http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/NT5/ which gives you two mics to record each instrument simultaneously or a live stereo performance.
