Pad Modification on an MPK88

Stephen Theardis

I want to do the pad modification, but wanted also to open my MPK88 preliminarily BEFORE I go to the expense and the waiting to order those after-market pads.
I just didn't want any surprises with doing this mod.
It seems the MPK88 cover doesn't lift right off like the smaller keyboards do. There is something holding the area where the unit plugs are, like an inner clip or hinge.
I didn't want to force it, because I don't know what's inside that area. Does it lift from the front and tilt back?
(I didn't like the idea of installing any kind of tape layers that have adhesive and may ooze over time. It seems like that might mess with the sensors.)
Can you help me? Do you have perhaps a PDF illustrating taking the top off an MPK88 that could be emailed to me?
Thanks so much.
