My microphone only comes with the massive adapter on the end (abit like earphones) that will not fit into my computer , my computer does have a connection for microphones, but only for the smaller connection (like stereo headphone sockets) so does anyone know if anything is on the market that is like an extension to stick on the end of the current one, so it will fit, what would it be called

Computer mic inputs are designed with ONLY computer microphones in mind, as the input supplies 5V bias power which ONLY computer microphones expect. However, you may achieve success using this:

You will be connecting your mic to either the black or the red input. Unfortunately I don't remember which one at the moment. One will have +5V present and the other should not. You want to use the one that does not, as the other could damage your mic.

Plus the built-in soundcard only has about 40cents worth of chips and is built for cheap beeps, boops and gaming, not music production.
