Mono to stereo

Hi everybody,
I'm planning to get one of these: http://www.artproaudio.com/products.asp?id=67&cat=13&type=90 to use for in ear monitoring. I plan to give the aux send output from my mixer to this amp. But the input is stereo while the aux send from the mixer is mono.
If I solder the tip and ring together, will I have any problem?
Any other suggestion how to get stereo ?

That's exactly the way to do it. Cable with TS at one end and TRS at the other, wired S to S and T to T+R.

It has an instrument input instead of a balanced mic input.

Yes, that's right. I'm planning to use it an in ear monitor for the keyboard player. So I don't need the mic input. I didn't find the peavey amp earlier, so I chose ART MyMonitor. Do you think the Peavey amp would be good?

If it has a limiter, the Peavey should be fine.
