D'Addario ProSteels

D'Adarrio's XL Nickel Wound electric guitar strings, their most popular string, gives your guitar a bright and detailed sound with spot-on intonation. Sweetwater knows that choosing the perfect string is vital to a musician's sound. The hexagonal high carbon steel core is wrapped with nickel-plated steel for a long-lasting string that's ready to tackle any style of music.

D'Addario - Making strings for over 300 years

Behind every set of D'Addario strings are over three centuries of fine craftsmanship. The D'Addario family tradition began in the tiny town of Salle, Italy in 1680 where they made assorted instrument strings for over two hundred years before relocating to New York in 1905. As the modern string making industry began to develop, the D'Addario family emerged as innovators by designing the winding machine most string makers still use today. And while their techniques have modernized, the pride that goes into each set of strings dates back to the D'Addario family's earliest roots.

Great Tone, Great Price

What else can I say? Great tone, great price. Barely fit the scale length of my Warmoth Jazzmaster Baritone (28 5/8 scale length), which is admittedly 1 1/2 inches longer than a traditional baritone. Will be using these as my mainstay strings.

Works on Hipshot Locking Tuners

I used this set when mounting a Warmoth baritone conversion neck on a Squier J. Mascis jazzmaster. The length of string is sufficient to run the length from bridge to tuners on a 28 5/8" scale neck and all strings fit through the tuner holes on the Hipshot open-gear locking tuners. While the low B (62) fit through the tuner, the tightening screw sticks out a little bit further than the rest of them. Overall, the strings feel great, aren't too hefty and the wound D (26w) is easy to get used to. Combined with a decent price, I'd say the D'Addario EXL158 set is worth buying again.

6 of 7

I actually use this set on a 7 string guitar then add a 10 guage E string for the high/treble 1st string. It becomes a daddario 10 guage set with a 62 for the low B.

Danelectro Baritone Guitar

These are the strings that come installed on a new Danelectro Baritone guitar. No complaints at all. They feel and sound great!

A Baritone for $10

These work great for Baritone Tunings, C or B. I use a Bullet Strat with these on, all you have to do is re intonate and just play. Still get deep tones with the .062 for the low end on a standard fender scale. Even stays in tune using the trem, which is fun , a baritone like sound with a whammy lol. And I guess if you are a SRV type person that uses 13's for Standard, and had the right set up on your guitar, these would work great especially the low E being bigger than typical 13's And btw I think on most fenders the 62 will fit, and I would include Ibanez and other companies that use similar tuning pegs, nuts and bridges.
