Tonally Accurate Reissue of the Iconic JTM45

The Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker tube combo amplifier is based on the JTM45, widely considered to be the definitive '60s Marshall. With 30-watts of power channeled through dual 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers, you'll command the legendary guitar tones of '60s rock legends. The 1962 Bluesbreaker's sonic sweetness comes courtesy of a GZ34 tube rectifier, which imparts the natural sustain and compression the JTM45 was famed for. Simply put, you'll love how it sounds - and feels - to play through the Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker tube combo amplifier.

Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker Tube Combo Amplifier at a Glance:
  • Your guitar will sing
  • Celestion Greenback speakers
  • Low wattage for a vintage Marshall
Your guitar will sing

If vintage blues and rock tones are what you crave, then you'll love the Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker. Take a hint from the name - this isn't a high-gain amp for metal, nor is it a programmable, multi-channel monster. This is the guitar tone that shaped the sound of '60s blues and rock, from sweet and smooth clean tones to overdriven, growling dirt. One channel and basic tone controls are all that's needed for iconic tone, and the built-in tremolo sounds so vintage you'll be playing "Born on the Bayou" for days. And if you need to push the 1962 Bluesbreaker to the limit, just put your favorite gain boost pedal in front of it and listen to your guitar sing.

Celestion Greenback speakers

Marshall chose Celestion Greenback speakers for their unquestionable vintage rock tone. Think rich midrange, a warm low-frequency response that's neither too tight nor too loose, and a gentle high-frequency roll-off that sounds right whether you're playing clean or full-bore. You'll instantly recognize the classic sound when you hear it, and it's the perfect foundation for rock and blues guitar.

Low wattage for a vintage Marshall

The 1962 Bluesbreaker is a reissue of the classic Marshall JTM45 amp, which only use 30 watts of power to create its epic tones. That's pretty low power when you consider Marshall's other models at the time. But 30 watts is perfect for live use in small to medium sized venues, and it's ideal for recording. You can get the sound of a fully pegged tube amp at a much more reasonable volume level, reducing mic bleed in your studio and your onstage volume when gigging out.

Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker Tube Combo Amplifier Features:
  • Accurate reissue of the legendary JTM45 amplifier, with two 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers
  • 30 watts of power - perfect for gigging and recording
  • GZ34 tube rectifier adds natural, smooth compression and sustain to your tone
  • Footswitchable tremolo sounds amazing
  • Straightforward control set is all you need to craft a range of vintage '60s guitar tones
Take control of the iconic tones of rock's revolutionary days with the Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker tube combo amplifier!

Amazing

I have a 87 plexi repro, a 68 fender delux repro and now this Bluesbreaker, the Bluesbreaker stands head and shoulders above the rest, worth every penny

I have a 1993 GREAT AMP !! Love it ! 30 watts but VERY LOUD !!! Killer tone

Great 60s sound

I have a Marshall Stack with a JVH410H head so I am no stranger to Marshall tone. I bought the Bluesbreaker as a companion to my Beano. I hooked it up and could not believe my ears. The tone is quite fat the way it should be. I immediately tested it out with a some licks from Steppin' Out and Hideway and was astonished at how good "I' could sound with this amp and this guitar! *****5 stars.***** Now I know what all the fuss it about.

Its heavy at 66lbs and does not have wheels so bring your gorilla to haul it arround to gigs. This is a studio rig for me so I don't have a problem with the weight.

It does have 2 channels. Channel 1 being "normal" and Channel 2 have a little more treble and a foot switchable tremolo. The manual also shows jumpering the channels to get various effects. Each channel has 2 inputs with the top input having higher "sensitivity" than the lower input for that channel. This leaves many possible combinations to find the right tone for your guitar.
