Rich, Dimensional Chorus with Rock-solid Low End

Optimized for bass guitar, the Electro-Harmonix Bass Clone chorus pedal takes the classic Small Clone chorus and enhances it for your electric bass. The key is its X-over switch, which removes the lowest frequencies from the chorus circuit. That leaves your low fundamental notes full and punchy while glazing them with sweet chorus on top. Use the Bass control to tweak your dry tone without muddying up the chorus — bassists at Sweetwater love using this pedal to add dimension without losing punch and definition. If you want to add the sonic texture only chorus can offer but are worried about messing with your core bass tone, you need the Electro-Harmonix Bass Clone chorus pedal.

Electro-Harmonix Bass Clone Chorus Pedal Features:

  • Chorus pedal based on Small Clone pedal, optimized for bass
  • X-over switch removes low frequencies from the chorus effect for tighter, punchier tone
  • Adds rich, dimensional chorus without compromising your fundamental bass tone
  • Treble control tweaks high frequencies of both dry and wet signals
  • Bass control tweaks low frequencies for your dry signal only
  • True bypass switching completely removes the effect from your signal path when disengaged
  • 9-volt test battery included

EH Bass Clone

After 50 plus years of playing bass, I think the Bass Clone may be only my third chorus pedal I have ever owned. I am currently using it in my studio pedal chain. I find that the effect is very present compared to the other chorus pedals I've used. The controls react and respond extremely well, and never harsh. I like to use my pedals is a subtle way, and I find the EH pedals do that well. Combined with my EH Bass Big Muff, I can get some really interesting and fun sounds! I find the EH pedals well built, well designed, straight forward, and this pedal is no exception to that.

Best Chorus for Bass

In my teenage years and early 20s I was heavily influenced by The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Mission, Dead Can Dance. The bass on many of their records are heavy with thick Chorus, and this pedal delivers that "Goth-Punk" vibe! This is one pedal that will never leave my arsenal.

Danny Clausman

So I was looking at all the more expensive chorus pedals thinking the obvious. After trying them all out the bass clone was by for the best sounding chorus pedal. I play over a 100 shows a year using an SVT rig / Fender Jazz. I have bass players all the time telling me how good it sounds and now there also asking what chorus pedal I'm using. So I guess I made the right choice. Sweetwater and Will are right on top of your needs has well.

Love this Chorus

I had a small clone for years and loved the pedal with the exception of the low frequencies not coming through, but what can you expect from a guitar pedal?

Picked up this guy for less than I paid for the small clone, and I find that it is much better suited for bass guitar. The crossover switch does help with the tone as well.

Only con - does not work well with my MXR mini iso brick. This pedal requires a specific power input that is more than most power bricks can provide. I changed its location in the pedal chain, and it seems to work now, but it was spiking the iso brick and tripping the internal breaker. Consider this before adding it to your chain.

Bass Clone

Wow! Electro-Harmonix did it right with this pedal. Adding separate Bass and Treble equalizers to the standard Depth and Rate controls helps players dial in a chorus for any musical situation.
