Great bass

My wife bought it for me as a present. I loved it right away. Easy size to play and with the combinations of pickups I got a tone my Bass mentor feel in love with. He picks it up every time he comes over. Excellent value for the buck. It was gig ready out of the box.

A gig-worthy bass out of the box!

I've owned a lot of instruments at every price imaginable, and I've been as pleased with this bass as any of them. I took it out of the box and played it on a gig the next night- I didn't have to adjust the truss rod, action, or intonation. For a bass as this price I fully expected it to need setting up, possibly even fret leveling, but it hasn't needed anything. I'm not saying that will 100% be your experience, but the overall quality of the bass is excellent. I didn't even change the strings until after the gig because everything was working so well. I now have it set up with some LaBella Low Tension Flats, and it is probably my favorite bass I own (over a Sandberg Lionel and a 1965 Epiphone Newport). If I wanted to be picky I'd swap the nut out for a nicer bone nut, but if it ain't broke...

I like this Bass

I have a Gibson Les Paul Short scale bass that I had to have the push pull knob solder because the wire was not connected. It still does not sound good. And this a lot cheaper short scale bass sounds so much better. Worth every penny that it cost. I love playing this Epiphone bass so much better than the Gibson.

A Great Bass

I like both the sound of the Allen Woody bass (deep and dark, with some warmth), and how easy and comfortable it is to play. It's an excellent bass, especially at its price. Definitely a keeper.
Music background: Long time finger style acoustic guitar player, more recent bass player
